Same. May even be the same four schools. Iām so wishing we had approached all this differently and gone for lower tier earlier.
Is it possible that these posters on Reddit might be deferred, but posting that they were rejected? They could have misinterpreted the decision, or might just want to post rejection rather than deferral, for whatever reason.
Oakland campus seems to be brand new campus for NEU (acquisition of Mills College). 2027s would be inaugural class. How do we gain any sense of campus life, grad stats, professors, etc.?
Accepted to Boston and the Honors Program. Thank God, for Him all glory, is all I have to say.
I was going to ask that! Iām also in the Oakland class.
My son got into NE Oakland for computer science. It appears to be still part of the Khory College of Computer Science in Boston (which is unlike other school branches.) Itās right across from San Francisco which is a huge tech area. It seems like it could be a good opportunity for him. I just have no idea how it functions compared to the Boston branch. Does anyone know?
Cost of Attendance.
yes so how much is the COA?
Fourth deferral. Now we wait until March. Itās the Wild West out there. You canāt even try to figure out what AOs are seeing.
Good question - this was my son too @Allycat1 !
Accepted Boston CS + Honors College with $25.5K, but she is a NMSF and the letter said that would supersede and replace the HC award if she designates Northeastern as her 1st choice.
Did a tour/admissions visit.
Basic Stats: white female, average public high school, Top 10% (school does not rank), good tech and music ECs, summer research, good writer, 1590 SAT, NMSF, lots of APs (all 5s)
Congrats!!! which major?
ED2 or not Iām expecting a deferral if not straight rejection, but I want to say thank you to everyone in this thread cuz you all have been much more supportive than some other threads
The campus is beautifulā¦it used to be Mills College. We walked the campus a few months ago. It is small but lovely.
Maybe if any NUBound students spent time on the Oakland campus this year and can shed some light. If not, I think 2027s will have to wing it since there are no stats as a brand new campus for Northeastern. I think it could be a good fit for computer science majors, but my D is not interested especially since the Boston location was the primary draw. Plus she has no interest in computer science. Good luck!
āAn oasis in the middle of Oakland,ā explore the Mills College at Northeastern campus. - YouTube
saw congratulations announcement, started celebratingā¦ only to realize its their London programā¦ not interested in 3 years in London. now just pissed
Was everyone who was deferred Boston tonight deferred to regular decision, ED2, or withdraw application?
