**Northwestern 2013 Transfer Thread**

Still waiting :/

@abhi12 Same here, still waiting for a decision.

Still waiting in IL too :(

Still waiting unfortunately…

do you think they’re doing them one at a time?

not sure why they have to send mails like cornell when every other school uses portals

Applied as a freshman, got in, couldn’t attend due to cost. Applied as transfer. Still waiting to hear.

appears to be emails for acceptances…do they email rejections or do we have to wait for the mail?

how do you know about emails for acceptances?

see posts: 54 & 69

54 answers my question on rejections, both come via email

Pretty much finished with this cycle only waiting for Northwestern at this point, what’s the deal!? Why are they slow

Just so everyone knows, the deadline to accept admission to NU is “within 3 weeks of the date of your acceptance letter.” Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard!

did anyone apply to medill?! is it impossible to get in?!

@jhaglin

I know this is a sensitive question so feel free to not answer, but NU states on its website that grant assistance is generally unavailable to transfers during their first year. Did you receive any financial aid from NU (if you applied for it of course) that wasn’t in the form of loans?

so anxious to get the decision. ugh

are all decisions rolling or is there a date by which we should expect to hear something either way?

@yolocholo I’m sure we’ll all hear back by Dec 31 haha just jk
You’ve already been accepted into Stanford right? Congratulations!

@hopeforthebest94 - yes indeed…NW is the last school I need to hear back from…then I can compare FinAid and go ahead and pick. Hopefully it’s some time relatively soon

Has anyone called the admissions office to get updates? One of the last schools I’m waiting for as well and seems like literally no one has heard back yet

Accepted to WCAS today. Will enter as a Sophomore.

HS GPA: Around 3.4 unweighted. Heavy upward trend and loaded w/ AP/Honors
College GPA: 4.0 first and second semester freshman year. I got the decision almost right after they received my second semester grades. Send them in guys!
Activities: Lots of business/econ/computer science related activities (pertinent to my major and to what I wrote about in the NU essay). Started a few clubs, held leadership roles, won awards at the state level.
Potential Hooks: Wrote about a struggle with anxiety that I’ve been working to overcome.

One of the best days of my life. I was previously rejected to Cornell, Columbia, and Stanford, and didn’t get into NU when I applied as a high school senior. Just goes to show that if you keep working hard, you’ll succeed. Keep at it guys! I believe in you!
