Let’s hope others aren’t ;)

I am waiting for sure, I’ve kind of ruled out my safeties, I think if I don’t get in, I’ll just go back to where I was because they are giving me the best financial aid

…but id much rather get no aid and go to northwestern :/

^ same. well, i’d be happy with some aid. lol.
how are you guys spending your summer? any jobs? hanging out? etc.

Obsessing over this, mostly.

^agreed. then, if i get in, maybe ill relax

My last day of school is June 7th and I start my internship with a big 4 accounting firm on June 20th (goes until August 19th). I won’t have much of a summer vacation :/

i’ve been pretty bored since school ended in early may and i’ve been home for nearly a month already!

^seconded, i think ill go to california for a bit lol

btw, theres a guy in a different thread that is transferring out of NU, idk why yet but he says NU’s engineering program is ‘boorish, at best’

which is a bit disheartening, because I really like what I’ve heard about that program (but he has a 2.5, so I’m not really sure he’s one to be calling that program boorish)

Ah well everyone’s experiences are different so don’t worry! i don’t know much about engineering (i’m a history major). is engineering hard to get accepted to at NU?

@monacle
NU has decent engineering program. Like most ivy schools’ engineering programs, NU’s engineering program is softcore. Most engineering graduates tend to go banking and consulting instead of the the traditional engineering careers.

thats good to know! econ is my second choice

A couple minutes ago, I awoke to the sound of the family dog barking away by the front door. I took a glance out the window, and there was a FedEx truck parked in the street out front. Too bad he just had a package for the neighbor… Hopes crushed. At this point, I can’t stand having a day off work. At least being away from home gets my mind off of the wait.

I’d guess decisions will go out about every ten days in June, with most sent out between the 10th and 25th, judging by last year’s information.

Hey everybody, I just found this thread and I’m happy to know that there are people in the same boat as me. I’m also from the Chicagoland area hoping to transfer to NU as a rising sophomore. You’ll probably be glad to know that I’m not an econ or engineering major. I applied to the school of communications to major in theatre. I’m also applying to NU for the second time, so this is my last chance to get into NU until grad school!

I’ll post my stats below if anyone is interested, or wants to offer their opinion of my chances:

High School GPA: 6.47 (weighted)
ACT: 29
College GPA: 3.9
Lots of extra curriculars in the fine arts
Excellent LOR and strong essays

At this point, I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but NU is my dream school and an acceptance letter would pretty much change my life!

Don’t you technically have another chance if you’re only a rising sophomore?

I just got my acceptance letter today! NU here I come!

Congrats. To which college did you apply? Mind sharing stats?

Congratss!! details please? lol

I got rejected today :(

Sorry to hear that. Any info is helpful, folks. Did the acceptance come via FedEx again this year? Did the rejection come by regular old snail mail? Has anyone received emails?
