I have such a low SAT score lmao
Looks like some of my high school documents were lost (or they didn’t acknowledge receipt, because one was literally sent electronically) and now I don’t even know if I’ll be able to complete my app since one thing might take weeks to resend. :’)) And I’m an incoming junior so this is my only chance to apply to NU… I’m really crushed. Applied to 11 schools and the only one I have any issues with is my dream school lol
Me too!! My advisor sent in the college report on 2/7 electronically but they didn’t receive it so I had to ask her to resend it… Don’t lose hope though! Try to send in these documents again and you’re fine:)
@yjliu Unfortunately it’s something that has to be sent by the D.O.E. (a requirement that no other school has and isn’t listed anywhere…) because I was in a bit of a nontraditional situation for high school, and this would take 3+ weeks, let alone now that everything is closed because my city is totally locked down. I’m going to try to see if I can get anything figured out but I don’t feel optimistic. Thanks though!
So do you guys think the first wave will be Wednesday? Wonder with everything going on if it will be pushed even further
it’ll either be 04/08 or 04/15. They even said if you submit your application after the deadline you’ll get your decision on or before 05/15
@s3annnnn Where was that posted? Does it make a difference if I submitted everything 02/28 (I was a bit intense with it)? I know some schools review those people earlier, idk if this is the case. I also haven’t gotten anything yet.
Historically, around what time does the first wave of decisions come out?
hello everyone!
THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM FOR ME
im at a california cc. 3.75 gpa - 7 associate degrees under two years. low income, first gen, asian female studying business.
also fyi - the first week is legit all rejections in my experience. so ;-;
@porouscriminal if you go to this webpage,
https://admissions.northwestern.edu/faqs/transferring-to-northwestern/
and go under “how do i apply” it says at the bottom about the extended deadline. as for time when submitted, i do not think it makes a difference but i’m not totally sure
Does anyone have any thoughts on the coronavirus impact? Do you think decisions come out later and acceptance rates will go up?
@ui1234 yea I think a lot of people are going to decide to attend in-state schools because a lot of families’ financial situations have been negatively affected by COVID. Therefore I think they are going to have a lot more room for students to attend.
@jazziscool Thanks! That’s what I was thinking… fingers crossed.
What would you guys think about financial aid during this time? I’m a low income student and I’m going for almost free at my current college, despite being immensely unhappy and dissatisfied with my major. Would they consider matching, or is money running out?
@porouscriminal id expect they want paying customers if endowment is hit badly, alumni giving drops, loss of students especially international students and if online continues would current students want to pay full price for online
My problem is that i don’t wanna pay 80k a year for online schooling.
I thought admissions won’t factor in financial aid? I hope they don’t turn need aware because of what’s happening
Would it be possible to decline acceptance if there isn’t a good package? And then… reapply… ?
Is the first wave all rejections?
I’m not sure. I saw some people get accepted in the first wave. It could just be the decisions that they’re sure about.
