Not enough room for ECs on GW online application?

I'm an ED 1 applicant who just started part 2 of the GWU application. The extracurricular section only provides about 8 spaces, but I feel that ECs are the best part of my profile and I have many more significant activities that I could put down. Should I just list them within the "additional information" section? Anyone else gotten to that part yet?

an option is to use the ‘additional information’ section to put your resume which includes ec’s and more (awards, work exp, volunteer exp, etc).

Eliminate half of them. Pick the 3-5 activities that are most meaningful.

Don’t list a bunch of b.s. "officer in this, that, … " … no one wants to read your dozen clubs that aren’t all that unique. If you started a company, created a refugee school in Zambia, created a mentoring program for terminally ill kids, were varsity football, won a national dance competition, and a few other things… then, and only then, is more room necessary. Seriously, condense it… choose the most significant (to you) and the most meaningful (for you). Admissions isn’t impressed with people who list a dozen things that are hardly noteworthy, or that required average effort to participate in.

Agree with gwgrad. However, IF you must list them and they are too numerous - use the “additional information” section. This goes for the GW specific app or the CommonApp.

CJ

Typically colleges are interested in the ECs where you’ve taken on leadership roles and/or those you’ve shown a long-term commitment to. They do not look favorably upon a laundry list of ECs.
