NOT taking the math SAT IIC

Will this hurt my chances to get into a top-tier UC? It's "Highly recommended" that students take the Math IIC (according to my counseling booklet), as one of the two required subject tests.

Personally, I'm not a very strong student in math, and don't think it's worth taking.

I already took USH And Bio, and scored 720 & 740 respectively.

But I still feel as if because I didn't take Math IIC and score an 800 like everyone else, I might be at a severe disadvantage?

no worries, practice for the test. I haven't had any troubles with math, personally, so I would just recommend you to suck it up and take the exam as I plan to suck it up and take the Bio subject test in a couple of weeks. Plus, anything above 700 math is a positive on any application.

You don't need an 800, you can be in the 700's like your other scores and be fine.

That's the thing: I absolutely know I cannot score even above 700.

My math is that weak. My math score on my SAT I was the lowest out of all three sections (luckily my cr and writing made up for it somewhat).

I can try and study from a book or something, though and take it in December,
if it makes a big difference.

First of all, only 10% of test takers get an 800 and the UC's will not expect you to score an 800. Second of all, bad grades in math classes might not be relevant. SAT math is different from the math you do in school.
