Well they are officially calling people! I just got the call like 10 minutes ago and I’m pretty much in shock!

Yaaaay ballerinawriter! So happy for you!

What was your intended major ballerina?

Congratulations Ballerinawriter! If I may ask, did they only call or was there an email to go with it?

Got my phone call at 6 oclock! Accepted! Dream come true!

Thank you all so much! I hope that everyone from CC who is on the waitlist can get off too!

I just got a call, no e-mail. It was my admissions counselor, who after all of this, I know pretty well now! They are overnighting the information packet and financial aid information!

I got my call today at 2 PM PST. So excited to get in off the waitlist—it has been a long wait! I am in the College of Arts and Letters. Could not believe it when I got the call from my ND admissions counselor. So happy, this is my dream school! I am hoping there are more calls and thinking about the others on the waitlist

Congrats to those who have heard. It must be a great relief. Did they call you on your home line or your personal cell?

My son was called on his cell phone but there was a caller id from ND on our home phone too. Good luck to all of you.

Thanks. SMC huh? We are an ND/SMC family .

The call came in my personal cell phone not the home phone. She left a message and then I called back when I got out of class

I forget – does ND ask applicants to describe an intended major? What majors have come off the WL so far. Last year, there was a need for Architecture majors and several got off the list.

Have only legacy kids been called?

My son wasn’t a legacy and his intended major is finance. Good luck. I know it’s a tough time.

will the ND waitlist admits post their stats? Congrats!

Anybody receive a call today?
Do we think they are done with the first round of calls?
Good luck to all.

Okay lets see! So many questions!

Calling- They called my home phone (the caller id came up on the tv and I screamed)

Major- I’m planning to major in English. I don’t think major was what got me off the list though. I think it was more of a “if-we-let-you-in-then-you-will-shut-up.” I’ve been calling a ton and I came and met with my admissions counselor two weeks ago and gave him a DVD and rec letters and I’ve had some people who work at ND call on my behalf. So, I’m pretty sure that major wasn’t a deciding factor.

Stats- My stats are very weak for Notre Dame(I think thats why I got waitlisted in the first place). I had a 29 on the ACT and a 1310 SAT (verbal+math). I had a lot of leadership and performing arts and really original dreams.

If you have more questions, keep asking! :)

My friend was called at his house. He said that the admissions person told him that only 11 were accepted off of the waitlist. He is a legacy with around 2000 SAT and 3.9 GPA.

In my opinion, waitlists are pointless. All they do is keep students huddled around their computers until June. There is no true sense of closure with the waitlist. Furthermore, the yields of every top school are increasing, making it extremely unlike that more than 10-30 students can get in off of the waitlist. But, I am extremely happy for my friend and to the other 10 who got in. For all of you who don’t make it, I understand…I myself am waitlisted at my dream school. My advice is to fall in love with the school that you committed to!

To answer the questions above, I am not a legacy and I’ve been accepted to the College of Arts and Letters but I have not declared my intended major. I have a 1430 verbal and math (2190 total) SAT score with a 3.99 UW GPA. I received the official acceptance letter in the mail today, overnighted just as my admissions counselor told me it would be yesterday. I hope this helps and I also really hope there will be more phone calls, I have a really good friend still on the waitlist and she is a legacy. Good luck everyone!!

Office stated they took a few off WL for specific reasons which is why I thought maybe they were looking at particular majors.
