<p>Look at last year’s thread; the counselors all said the exact same thing, then accepted about 100 students from the waitlist. It seems like opacity is their M.O. And, if history is any indicator, it appears that the the first round of waitlist admits should come out this week.</p>
<p>FWIW, I was also listening to a radio show – either Bloomberg or NPR – in which an admissions consultant was discussing the increasing use of the Common App, particularly this year. As a result, she said, many students are applying to more schools; she expects this to translate into lower matriculation rates across the board, and hence, more waitlist action.</p>
<p>My fingers are crossed. My little sister is currently on ND’s waitlist. Good luck to all.</p>

<p>oh but since more people applied to more schools using the CommonApp, this doesn’t mean that there will be more waitlist action because as a result, schools are accepting more students since they already saw this coming.</p>

<p>According to my counselor, they are 99.9% sure they will not be going to the wait list this year, here are some quotes from the e-mail.</p>
<p>"We are waiting until Wednesday of this week to assess the final deposit situation. At this time we are well ahead of last year and it appears that we will not be taking students from our wait list. This year the confirmation rate is higher than last yearwe had not expected that outcome.</p>
<p>We are waiting three more days in case we get absolutely no deposit mail postmarked by May 2nd however, it appears from past years we will receive a few more and if this occurs our class will have reached its limit."</p>
<p>“But you should understand we are now 99.9% sure that our class has been filled.”</p>
<p>99.9% not going to the WL…that sucks and I hope you are wrong, lol.</p>
