November 2012 International SAT1 Discussion Thread

The Test had some sections that are too easy and others that are really hard .

The essay was kind of easy yet difficult : strange a little bit but solvable . the assignment was : Are people too serious ?

I don’t know whether you agree with me , but I see that the ( 20 questions ) math section was the hardest of them all , if not of all the math sections that ever came in the SAT.

Also , the reading section with the short-paired and long-paired passages was hard .

That’s it ! Please , I want to know your impressions of the Test too .

thank goodness… so you don’t remember a question about “By age [something], Alexander the Great had conquered [something]…”?

@yjh6543

How do you know those are the answers?

Anybody got the answer to the math question that was something like the product of all integers between 5 to 45 where (n-1)/n ?

Also the last math question, what was the area of the triangle with the plots 5,t 5,t+2 etc?

@Numzi that art evaluation is indeed experimental. because I got the same experimental section in the Oct 6 test a month ago…

First one was 5/44, i omitted the other one

it’s 36 because the width is 14, the length is 4

I think i remember some Math questions …
Number 18 (Grid-in Section) : 6
2 overlapping squares, find area of shaded region : 16
n.1/n : 5/44

But if the art evaluation passage was experimental last time, it probably isn’t this time? I hope it is though  does anyone remember what else was in that section?

Also were there 2 48’s in the grid questions or just 1?

Numzilla : I’m pretty sure there were 2 48s :D

Which critical reading section of the four is the most likely to be the experimental one. I did very well, as to what I think, in the ballet and Chinese father sections. Both sections of the wolves and vandalism were terribly awful. First of all, I didn’t understand them under the timed conditions I was in; also, I left half the questions in each of their sections.

so the vandalism section is NOT the experimental one? :(

The experimental one is art evaluation passage for sure…

Which other passage was there in the section containing the art evaluation passage?

any one remember a “persevering and intellectually curious” for that immigrant boy’s father?

^ Yes that’s what I picked!

^Yes. “long, long” suggests preservering, and intellectually curious can be seen through his desire to read.

What was the answer for ‘swath on a canvas?’
It was either agitation or ignorance…
I don’t know the meaning of swath

Left it
Done pretty well in the Chinese father and ballet ( left some questions though) no how I actually did in tha art evaluation and wolves **** lol
Thank god art evaluation is experimental
There were 2 48’s that’s right :)

is the answer for the question about why it took vandalism a long time to reach his area

was the answer smth like “weren’t receptive to antiauthoritarianism”?
