<p>I got selected as an alternate for Russian Summer. Basically waitlisted. Nobody’s going to give up an NSLI scholarship…so I’m basically screwed… ;(</p>
<p>It doesn’t make sense though. Russia was my first choice. So wouldn’t they have given me Turkish summer, seeing as Turkish is less competitive than Russian?</p>
<p>Anyway. Good luck to those who haven’t heard, and congrats to those who got in.</p>

<p>Okay, I was just on the other NSLI thread and someone referenced the facebook page, which I checked, and for anyone who was previously in the dark like me, decisions are beginning to be released now and will continue until April. The agony of waiting!</p>

<p>Any news from NSLIY today? Curious to see where people are going. Haven’t heard of any Arabic speaking acceptances yet…</p>
<p>I’m a semi-finalist for China Summer as my first choice, South Korean summer for second, and Russia summer for my third. I still haven’t heard anything…I know that they said they’d get back to us in April, but still. SO MUCH WAITING.</p>
<p>I know Russia summer acceptances went out. I didn’t get one. So I’m assuming that means I was rejected? =( oh well</p>

<p>I’m not sure. But it seems as if a lot of people were notified of acceptance or alternate and I haven’t read of anyone who has been notified of denied (maybe those people just don’t post on CC and the NSLI-Y exchange connect network).</p>
<p>so I don’t know. I’d like to keep my hopes up, but I have a feeling that this doesn’t look too good.</p>

<p>I applied for Arabic Summer as my first choice and haven’t heard back yet. For those of you with Arabic as number 1, what were your 2nd and 3rd choices?</p>
<p>Actually, it’s for my D. I’m just trying to figure out a timeline. She wanted Arabic, Hindi, Chinese in that order. Interestingly, she just got the FUSYE (7 weeks in Finland) scholarship, so she’ll be going somewhere.</p>
<p>Is the ending date for notices the end of april?</p>

<p>Congratulations to Mauicougar’s daughter! That looks like a neat program! My son is dying to hear about the Chinese year program but I am actually hoping the news comes out later in April because he is also in the running for United World Colleges and Yes Abroad and I’d hate for him to have to choose before he knows all his options. His older sister is waiting for news of Chinese summer so I say, hurry up with the summer programs, let’s just delay the year programs. ;-)</p>
