Nsli-y 2012-2013

I don’t know for sure, but I think my daughter told me that each part of the country has a different company administering NSLIY for the government. No one in Hawaii has heard yet (as far as I know). The company that handles Hawaii is AIS Americancouncils.org. Has anyone who applied through AIS gotten notice? Hopefully, this is a reason that some have not heard back yet…

On the NSLI for Youth website, they are now saying that notifications will be sent until April 20. Ugh!

FEH this is sooo darn stressful. -_- Sorry to be randomly joining but I’ve been looking @ blogs wondering if other people got an email…I applied to the China Summer program and still haven’t heard anything…I’ve been frantically checking my email and still…nothing.

Yeah, i applied to China as well, I haven’t heard anything at all. I can’t beleive there’s only nine days left! I am so nervous!

I know right? I mean, they should be sending the email super soon…hopefully. >_< If they don’t send an email soon then I guess that means I didn’t get in…D:

I’m hoping we receive emails today, but it will probably be next week sometime I bet.

Apollo6: Is Chinese actually more competive in terms of acceptance rates? I understand more applications for the program are submitted but there are a lot more scholarships offered for Chinese. My child is going on the Russian summer trip. She has the statistics somewhere and the acceptance rate was in the 15-17% ballpark. I can’t recall the exact numbers she told me but for some reason 60ish summer scholarships with 480ish applicants is coming to mind. I don’t know if those 480 were all people who put Russia as their first choice or Russia as any choice.

Nagela: I’m thinking (well, hoping, at least) that we’ll get them by Sunday. Do you have any idea what time they send the emails out? Morning, midday, evening?

I just got my acceptance email for China Summer!!! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

My kid just heard too in NY. China summer 2012! Jealous…

btw I’m in the iEARN program in Zhuhai

I just heard- Summer China 2012! Oh my godd hyperventilation…

My D13 is going to China with AFS this summer! She’ll go to one of these cities: Chengdu, Anshan or Changzhou. I am so excited for her (and yes, I am a little jealous  )

Congrats everyone! I was just wondering, I applied for China first, Hindi second, and Korea third, and it seems like a lot of people received acceptances into China yesterday, and I am really worried that this means that I didn’t make it into the program. I mean, I keep thinking back to my interview and I don’t think I showed how much I wanted to go enough to the interviewer. I was thinking to maybe call a representative and maybe ask them, but I don’t know if it’s worth it or not. Or do I maybe have a chance of still being accepted? Once again, congratulations to all of you who already made it.

How is everyone learning about their acceptance? Is it by email?

Sent from my SPH-D710 using CC

Yes, students are being emailed.

Has anyone heard about China year programs yet? My daughter got into summer Chinese but my son is still waiting for news about the year program.

Has anyone got result about NSLI-Y Russia summer program yet?

runnergnv - yes Russia summer acceptances and alternate notifications were released.
