nursing program and college life

My daughter was accepted to the nursing program and after visiting several other schools, appears to have fallen in love with neu. can anyone provide some feedback on the nursing program? I also wonder about the "college experience" at neu versus more traditional university (ie. uconn). any thoughts or advice?

somebody pls reply

Don’t think there are any nursing majors who post here regularly… I don’t know much about nursing personally so I won’t be very helpful, but an old roommate of mine is finishing her 4th year in the program and is pretty happy with it.

The workload can be tough–my roommate was always pretty busy between clinicals, class, and working part-time. As far as co-op, she got good placements and with so many hospitals in boston, she’s been able to move around and find a good fit.

She’s happy with it because she knows nursing is really what she wants to do, and feels NU co-ops have given her good experience, so she has a good idea of what jobs she wants to go into after graduation and has good connections.

Can’t help you specifically with your question about NEU, but you might try posting it again on the Nursing Forum.

I am a nurse at a Boston hospital. The coop nursing students from northeastern are the better prepared students after graduation than any other program I know. The coop students are also better prepared for the best jobs. Northeastern would be my # 1 choice if I did it all over again. Boston is a great place and socially i think they are still connected to other hard working students.

ibnhf1,

Do you know anything about Pharmacy students from NU? Thanks

I do not know much about the pharmacy program but I imagine the coops are also a great way to get your foot in many different doors.
