Nyc

Do many students take weekend trips to NYC? Or is it too far, and there's never enough time?

from what i've heard theres alot going on on campus so its not that common, but over the course of the year i get the impression a fair number do. I just feel like its not something you do every couple weeks.

it takes about 3 hours to get to NYC, so unless you plan on driving a lot or taking a realllly long bus ride (5 hours+ sometimes), it's not really practical. You have more than enough to do on campus, and in Ithaca to keep yopu busy for the semester.

i'm pretty sure it takes more than three hours to get to new york city
I think it takes 5 to 6 if you drive so I really doubt anybody does it.

no, 3-3.5 hours... Trust me, I make the trip about 10 times a year to visit family......... Unless you hit traffic, then you can expect 4-4.5 hours.

I live just north of NYC and it takes me 3.5-4 hours, so you can expect 4-4.5 hours as blackferrari said. Even though I live in that region I do not really have time to go back home more than once a semester.

it's the bus ride that takes 4 or 5

yeah, the bus can take a long time... Even closer to 6 hours... Unless it's a direct route, but I don't know of any.

Cornell has a Campus to Campus service that costs $99 one way and $149 round trip. It is the fastest bus route to NYC, taking 4.5 hours.

but i'm wondering if people do it very often.

no not really. once and a while, maybe.
