NYU CAS econ

I was just wondering if i-banking firms will even bother to recruit CAS econ majors, since Stern seems to be the big focus of all the major companies. If I go to NYU CAS and major in econ, do I even have a chance of getting recruited by an i-banking firm (not neccesarily a top one), or would I be better of going somewhere else like IU-Kelley?

By the way, I plan to minor in pre-business.

bump.......

You can always internally transfer to Stern if you wanna go into i-banking.

hmm.. yaa.. If you get into cas econ.. is it worth paying the oh so.. 45,000 for just cas econ instead of stern?

I'm wondering also.. I'm a junior and I'm applying to stern next year, soo I'm wondering what to do if I'm in your position..

but I think I would say no, especially if you have another solid option... depends on how much you like IU kelley really and whether 45,000 is a problem.. I'm not really sure about your I-banking question though..

I know someone who graduated from NYU CAS and did econ...i remember him telling me it was a lot harder form him to land interviews simply because he didnt have the Stern name on his diploma. He is doing well now an working as an anaylst but it was def more hard for him to get a job then it was for all of his stern friends with 27589 job offers...i mean CAS and Stern share the same econ department, but the name really does make a difference to employers. You could always internally transfer, I really don't think its as hard as people make it out to be.
