I have a 3.58 gpa from rutgers new bruns. I Dont think I should apply to stern although one of my friends last year transferred to stern from here with a 3.6. Im thinkin on what I should do. ANy Idead. Anyways, How Solid is NYU CAS Econ with a Pre-Business Minor (who take classes with stern kids)? Can you still land a good job, as in the same jobs that stern kids might end up with.

stern econ is different than the CAS econ classes. the CAS classes take a more theoretical approach to economics while the stern econ classes take a "how it applies to business" approach (from what i have read on nyu's website.)

it is good to know that a friend of yours transferred in with a 3.6. i have a 3.67 and i am trying to transfer in. i do not know about your job question question but anything from nyu looks great on a resume. hope that helped somewhat.

yup, you can still get a great job with CAS Econ equivalent like the Stern Kids. Problem is you need to be better than them because you will be competing with them a lot for those jobs. that means you need to know the finance that they know along with something else. Fortunately this can be done through taking some basic stern classes, as well as taking advantage of NYC to intern at other jobs and gain experience. being able to take classes in the morning, then hop down on the subway to intern at a top tier ibank makes NYU so attractive, stern or not.
