NYU Class of 2017 Waitlist

@ hello3 & @maeaquino: which school did you apply to ?

Upon further investigation from other users in the previous page, I believe that is the case. For as I said, NYU wouldnt just mention “enroll” and “interest” or bother string us along any longer since SIR date was a 30 days ago LOL. I truly hope that is the case and we both get in!

@totololo i applied to CAS but they’re offering me space at LSP and @hello3 good luck and haha yeah i hope that is the case!!

What schools were you guys planning on going? I was planning on going to scu but nyu is so much more prestigious which is why I hope I’m admitted. I also only got the bare minimum to avoid being rescinded for 2nd semester so I hope I don’t get rescinded if I gain admission LOL

hello3~my son received the same interest email you got, and he responded yes right away, but still hasn’t had an offer. It has been 8 days since he got that email. We don’t want to lose hope, but it doesn’t appear that there is a space for him yet. Good luck to you, and I hope you receive an offer soon.

Thanks guys!!

jjcatena he will probably receive this coming week. I am holding my fingers crossed for your son. Maybe it depends on the individual doing the evaluations. Some may be more diligent than others?

Sorry you and your son have to go through this stress :(

guys, anyone know if the CAS class of nyu is full? or gallatin?

I’m still hoping for a spot in Tisch for Drama :/. I haven’t received any emails regarding my interest, which is very upsetting. It’s so good to hear that some folks dreams are coming true! Congratulations to the recents admits!!

just wanted to know…if stern plans to have a class of 600 students (incoming freshmen)…does stern send exactly 600 admission offers at the end of March or does it send more like 1000 as it anticipates that some students might be declining the offers ?

anyone who has an answer, please reply. thank you.

Thanks Ruth. Still waiting…pure torture.

@totololo Stern plans freshmen class size of 550 and offers admission to around 1,100 due to a expected enrollment rate of 50%. This year about 8,500 applied, the most competitive year.

still the wait. it’s been so long :(

I just wish everyone on the remaining waitlist would be notified already, accepted would be even better :(

@collge: thnks for the infomation. do you know how many students stern has already admitted for the class of 2017?

Has anyone else responded positively to the “interest” email, and NOT received an acceptance off the wait list?

jjcatena: try to contact the nyu admissions office to get some explanations about your situation…may be it might help…

i don’t know what to do  i love nyu and i haven’t gotten off the waitlist. there is always the possibility of getting off but there’s so much to pay for the college i picked to attend now. it’s driving me insane spending this much money and then possibly getting into nyu and going. my parents are totally gonna blow up :/

jjcatalena - I too got an interest email almost 2 weeks ago and responded positively and have not heard anything yet. In my message I didn’t mention financial aid but I said if I were admitted I would definitely enroll. My mom says I shouldn’t email then again about financial aid but I’m still uneasy about it.

Still haven’t heard anything and I’m starting to get worried. Does anyone know what I should do?

@dandyy I’m sure you will receive some sort of input from them soon. I know people who got the email and had to wait almost 2 weeks for their financial aid package to actually show up. So don’t sorry about it, keeping checking your Albert account and I’m sure things will fall into place soon. Wish you all the best!

Sonia2580 - what exactly do I look for? I keep seeing different things that people mention.

Thanks for your support! It’s so nice to hear from people that understand my situation :)
