NYU Class of 2022 waitlist

Has anyone heard from CAS? If not does anyone know if they will send out emails… or when? anything? educated guesses?

@josephjim It’s been suggested that perhaps around 10th or 11th of May from CC Class of 2021 discussion. Not sure if it will follow last year because it’s not clear if they will have the same number of openings. I’m hoping to here from CAS as well. Good luck to us both.

Has anyone waitlisted for drama heard of any info?

Did anybody get any email from Tandon? When will they release for Tandon college?

@GabeLeeOhHoney i was waitlisted for drama/MT and i haven’t heard anything from anyone!

@RibaldFlotsam Those waitlisted will hear from NYU alongside all the others

I just heard that my son’s friend was admitted to Tisch Film from waitlist. My son is still just on waitlist.

Hello everyone,
I submitted my application on April 30th, and I didn’t get the continued interest email. Is it because I sent in the application later than everyone in this thread? or is it just that I’m not qualified.

@eyuncho If you’d read back on some of this thread, you’ll see that not everyone has gotten an interest email. Also, it seems as if interest emails have only been received for certain schools/majors thus far.

@eyuncho If you don’t think the information I provide is “fake news” (From CMU thread), take a look at post 255 and follow along: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/discussion/comment/21517192/#Comment_21517192

@filmnerdie mine is - I choose gallatin and stern. Didn’t receive that second email. Only one stating how the process works.

@MrElonMusk Don’t take it too personally man… There were bunch of people who were spreading rumors since the days before the March Decision release date…
We’re in this together lol!
I’m also waitlisted from Tandon. It seems like NYU has sent those emails before the May 1st hmm…

Also how are people already getting off the waitlist? You’d think that they would send the first batch of acceptances all at the same time, like the interest emails

@filmnerdie as stated above? Did you get into stern or Gallatin? how did @friedmermaid get into stern so quickly, my school hasn’t even sent out final transcripts.

@hrvrdwl2022 I got an interest email for Gallatin

@hrvrdwl2022 i didn’t get into stern, i got tisch for ima. my major is really small too.

@filmnerdie

  1. Has your school already sent out final transcripts?
  2. Is not getting this second email a bad sign? (first one was the outline of the process)

@friedmermaid ahh no worries. Someone messed up your major up there ^

  1. NYU will accept people before schools final transcripts are sent out, just like how ED kids get accepted only with first term grades, a school doesnt NEED your final year grades. But, if youre still on the waitlist then yes, you should send them in IF they help. If you slumped then...maybe not. They dont really need final transcripts and they actually asked for nothing else to be sent to them (my guess is you only send them in after your accepted, they have enough in your application to make a decision).
  2. It seems like each school is selecting their waitlist students seperatly, at different times, with different number. It seems like if youre at the top of the list then you get the email (it makes sense because they are going down the line of waitlist students best to worst until they fill their class). If you didnt get an email i really wouldnt worry. Its so early in the game right now. People will be getting those emails all the way until august.

@GoldMomVA, can you give any more information on your friend getting off the wl for tisch tv/film? It just seems quick and random to me and like the only one we have heard this from. I would like more information if you could. ?

@westcoastdream - you might want to address @friedmermaid instead. She actually got off the WL and was offered a spot in Tisch in IMA. It seems like offers are very few and “surgical” at this point and eveyone else just needs to wait until their major and school makes the preliminary round of waitlist offers. Given how low they dropped the acceptance rate to and how many people were waitlisted this year, I would not give up hope!
