NYU Class of 2022 waitlist

it is just odd to me that no one from cas was accepted from the waitlist and we didn’t even heard any news about it…

Why haven’t they admitted anyone from CAS? Does this mean that they were full to begin with? Is it possible to reapply for the spring semester this fall?

@biyaloi i know right! I didnt apply for CAS but i know AT LEAST 10 people in my grade who did, got in, and decided not to go. Thats 10 spots already. Even though there arnt a ton of us on this thread i feel like one of us had to have been addmitted. Also everyone on here has amazing grades and SAT scores and yet no ones getting admitted for Fall. These kids are probably curing cancer. I just dont wanna compete.

No one got into CAS? How do you know that?

Acceptance rate:
2016: 32%
2017: 27%
2018: 19%

Waitlist Admit #s
2016: 900
2017: 300
2018: 150

Unfortunatly the numbers make total sense. NYU also had the most applications for any US college or university ever this year. Im officially deleting my CC account and just not worrying about this anymore. Cya guys. Good luck to all of you. We are all gonna do amazing things wherever we go and be $250,000 richer. When all these NYU post grads are selling their stuff on ebay and living with their parents we will be living in NYC with no debt and vacationing in the british virgin islands. Love you all. You guys have really helped me through this. Peace.

PS. anytime youre still salty about this whole buttfuq just watch this video i found: https://youtu.be/2rL3pHEmA_I

How did you find out no one got accepted from CAS?

You have 2016 and 2017 mixed up

@CSem2022 thats my bad but still. With an acceptance rate that low i dont really expect much more from them.

Has anyone learned whether Spring admits are housed together as a cohort, are are they slotted into rooms vacated by students who go abroad? And does anyone know how large the Stenhardt spring cohort is expected to be? TIA for any help!

@20122638 i thought last year was 900 and 2016 was 300

@garbanzo330 well at least we didn’t heard any news that nyu is going to accept anybody from cas.
and in the past 400 post, all I saw was people keep asking each other about if anybody got into CAS

hey guys this looks like the end for a lot of us but don’t forget we all have exciting futures ahead. we all have amazing schools lined up for us, and if we truly don’t find a fit, transferring is always an option! this is only the beginning, and pls remember my username: its going to be okay!

I know it might suck right now but realize that a lot of us are financially making the better choice. I found this buzzfeed video: https://youtu.be/r7JcHz6ucyI
Its about a lady who went to Tufts (same price as NYU) and now her life is basically over because of how much money she owes. If you can afford NYU without loans, great good for you but if you cant (probably the 99% of us in here) dont worry. this is literally just four years of your life. Work your ass off these next for years, and the you can go to grad school in NYC or just get a job and live in NYC after. With no loans the worlds your oyster. We have to remember this is just four years. And a brand name school can only get you so far. There are positives to attending but there are also positives to not.

@20122638

I get you. Best of luck man:(

Are we going to get at least rejection letters?

So CAS is full? And the next update is in June? :expressionless: :expressionless:

If there’s anyone accepted off of their wait list, please say something no matter which course in which school you’ve been accepted to. I believe at least one out of those 150 is reading this thread. Or maybe, is it just NYU stating that they will send emails to those 150 this week or later?

I just want closure at this point.

@meilworm It seems to me NYU is trying to let people know that there will be a very slim chance that many of the 15,000 waitlisted will be offered admission in Fall or even Spring, so I think mentally it’s time to move on and if you one of the lucky few it will be a tremendous surprise, but for now, enjoy HS and graduation and the summer. Best to you all.
