@thrgirl1 Yeah I just got off the waitlist at UMICH so I think I’m just gonna give up on NYU. Congrats on getting off your waitlist!
@thrgirl1 and @clvmsy Congrats to you both of you. My mom is an alumnae from U of Michigan and she loved that school and the experience and the huge alumni base. Best advice–take advantage of all you can from the school you attend. It feels good to make the choice to move on; it did for me. Best to you both.
@clvmsy thank you, congrats to you too! I’m also going to umich.
@GrusMinion thank you as well!!!
To be honest, you guys are all amazing for even waiting this long. I can’t even begin to imagine how much stress you guys have had to deal with these past few months. But no matter what happens, you guys are all champions in my eyes. I can only wish to have half as much determination and hope as you guys!
Good luck to everyone on your future endeavors. With your hope, persistence, and tenacity, you will succeed no matter where you go and that (unlike this waitlist) is GUARANTEED.
@thrgirl1 AYYYYYE I’m LSA
@clvmsy hey sameeee
We should hear good news starting tomorrow!! Be well guys! Congrats on graduating! I just graduated hs yesterday.
@eyuncho How do you know?
@eyuncho how do you know?
This is the latest update. Im just wondering if I should take myself off the waitlist for closure. https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/waitlist-update.html
I got an email two minutes ago
Dear [me],
As promised, I am writing to provide you with an update on the status of your application to NYU.
At this point in time, all of our programs and campuses are at capacity. We very likely will not have any additional spaces to award.
If we are able to extend a space to you, we will notify you by email sometime before August 1. I will write again on or just after August 1 with a final update unless you are no longer interested in NYU. If you are no longer interested in being considered for admission to NYU, you can remove yourself from the waitlist.
Finally, we respectfully ask that you do not send any additional emails or letters whatsoever (either directly or from others) to affirm your interest in NYU. Please rest assured that we will give you the closest possible consideration if any space becomes available.
Sincerely,
Jonathan B. Williams
Associate Dean and Director of Admissions
This is “great news”…
Now I don’t need to worry about NYU for the rest of the summer.
My son got the same email as @eyuncho (for Stern). He had already moved on pretty much, and is happy with his choice, but I actually thought he would end up getting accepted at NYU. NYU would be WAAAYYYYYYYY more money for us, and I’m not sure it would make sense to accept, so I was happy when he decided to take his name out of the running at NYU yesterday. Good luck to those who are sticking it out!
I got that same email from above…applied to stern and gallatin. we made it to the final round i guess.
For those of you who got off of the waitlist and admitted at NYU starting with 2019 spring term, is it allowed to take online courses or in-classes courses at communicty college during the fall gap semester? I just want to know whether that is allowed so that I can possibly get the credits out to pursue double majoring in the mechanical engineering and physics within 4 years…
I didn’t write an essay, still got in. Truth be told, they will look at your essays the least
VioletBloom yes you can take classes at a different college.
@VioletBloom I think you contact NYU to verify that any credits earned would be transferrable rather than make any assumptions. Good Luck to you.
