NYU ED II 2018 Discussion

Ah I kinda wish the fa change didn’t exist even though I got it. There’s so much Uncertainty with it and I feel like it gives false hope as well as false dissapointment

Exactly how I feel ^

4 days 20 hours 56 minutes guys!

AHHH. so nervous, its unbelievable. we can do this :)

It’s so scary yet relieving knowing that by the end of this week, all this stress and anxiety will be over. Hopefully in a positive way, for all of us :)

@pennydogman why is there a decline option on the ed acceptance? I thought it was mandatory that all accepted students go (unless there are extenuating/financial impediments)

@HaroldSawyer it’s for those who, once seeing their financial aid package, can say no if their package is not enough to allow them to go.

Also for people who have program changes from their primary choice (like CAS to LSP)

isn’t it true that if you’re not accepted to the program you applied for, your ED agreement is broken? so you’re still accepted to nyu, but you technically aren’t required to accept anymore…

@julietrose11 true.

@Chubscout I still haven’t gotten my FA change :frowning: feels like im the only one hahaha

international student and haven’t received FA Change either, freaking out everyday and constantly checking. This doesn’t mean i’m rejected right?

@zebrashorts @miladnyu people without fa change have been accepted before

@NYUhopeful1 yeah but there’s a smaller chance of getting accepted without FA change right? :S

@zebrashorts no fa change means that they haven’t reviewed your fa application. There’s 2 explanations for that. A good one and a bad one.

(I’ll start with the good one first): the admissions committee or the fa office simply hasnt started to review your application yet. They may do so on the last day for all we know for some applicants.

(The bad one :frowning: ) they may have reviewed your application and not chose to send it to the fa office. This is what the whole fa change theory is based on. If the admissions committee acceps someone then they would send it to the fa office and if they were to reject someone then they wouldn’t bother. But this is all speculation.

Don’t worry yet though because there’s still a few days left and some people in the ed1 thread got in without the fa change.

Hope I helped alleviate some of you anxiety :)

But I feel like I may have worsened it instead :(

@nyuhopeful1 lol I feel like you probably made it worse… @miladnyu can you go post your stats on the pledge thred?

Thank you :)

4 days and 8 hours!!

I asked about the change from cas to lsp and was told it just means you’re being considered for lsp. Are we back to square one or

Do you think they have to say that?
