NYU ED II 2018 Discussion

NYU unfortunately doesn’t publish school by school acceptance rates

I know, but wouldn’t it help to know if it is a 100 % acceptance rate for those who are considered for LSP from CAS?

@lyndak @zebrashorts

This account has multiple users, but I’m a dual degree candidate! :)

My main school will be Steinhardt, in Global Public Health + Media Culture Communications

T-minus 3 days

3 and a half days… surprisingly a staggering amount of people with FA change in this thread. Very interesting…

Well I feel like most people in this thread are high achieving student so that might be it

Guys, Shawn Abbott just gave an ED2 update in the admissions blog.

“Admission decisions will be sent via email, beginning in the pre-dawn hours (New York City time) on Friday. We will continue to send decisions throughout the day, with all decisions released by Friday evening.”

So yeah… I guess rejections will be coming first and starting pre-dawn… :(

honestly, of all the candidates who are rejected by CAS and turned over to LSP for consideration, how many are rejected? Is it greater than or less than 50 %??

@Chubscout I would say Greater than 50%

Well guess who’s not sleeping Friday??

Probably Everyone that’s on this thread

I’M. LITERALLY. FREAKING. OUT. The ED2 update just made things so real omgomgomgomgomg

Haha I don’t think i’ll be going to school on Friday… I’ll just be huddled over my laptop, constantly checking and checking…

Okay. So any back up schools if you guys don’t make NYU? I know… I’m being very pessimistic lol

@outonalimb

If it goes anything like EDI’s timeline, it should be:

Intl Rejections
East to West Rejections
Stern Acceptances
More Rejections (Eclectic schools)
Rest of acceptances → Got mine 1pm PST after a night of no sleep.

I got deferred from Wash U in St. Louis and I got into Tulane, but that’s kind of like a safety. Other than NYU there’s USC, UMich, Emory, GWU, and BU.

Greatttttttt, no way am I sleeping thursday night into friday morning… I’m used to all-nighters but now I’m gonna be a mess during the day… and I’m really interested in BU, Northeastern, UMich, and USC, but I wouldn’t consider any of them back-ups haha

.

@VioletAvenger God, that last round of rejections is gonna kill me. This is gonna be a nightmare haha

Wait, this means that if you get an email early, you already know you got rejected, and if its already in the late evening to midnight and you didn’t get a letter yet, you probably got in?

Well I wouldn’t say midnight, maybe just midafternoon to evening. A few people actually never got an email (in ED1) the day of the decisions, and they had to call the office for their admission decision.
