My nyu email is a-okay

we are all rejected⊠oh my god the email isnt working⊠ahhh

the email probably doesnât mean anything! mine is probably only working because i used it constantly during precollege, so it was never deactivated

Us EDI students didnât get our emails until roughly a month after acceptance (because of the Winter break). So donât panic! :)

@julietrose11 I used it during precollege too but mine was deactivate jan 17th watch a week from now weâre all gonna be laughing are how paranoid we are lol

Quick question : Hypothetically, if I was rejected from first choice (CAS) and was considered for LSP and rejected there as well, would the status revert back to CAS or stay on the LSP?
If it helps, I also received the evil FA Change and my application status still shows my intended major and CAS.

@NYUABCDE Never heard of an LSP switch being switched back into the original 1st choice.

I donât see why it would change back, seems like more work than necessary on their part. it would probably just stay on lsp, but thatâs genuinely just a guess

Doesnât that essentially mean that any person without a program switch that allowed one on their common app is accepted? Logic being that if you are rejected the status switches to LSP and then stays there even if youâre rejected again. Maybe Iâm reading too deep into it lol.

@NYUABCDE âŠsurely you could just be straight-up rejected though, without being considered for LSP?

i mean for kids who apply to stern⊠i dont think they would consider you for lsp if you didnt get inâŠ

@sphinx95 I feel like that would defeat the purpose of the alternate school option. If you are straight up rejected for CAS and there arenât like extreme reasons why (i.e 300/2400 SAT score, 1.7 GPA, etc. based on the assumption there arenât any explanations), there should be no reason why you donât have your application status changed to LSP and then rejected there again.

@rodrigo9 Many Stern applicants have been accepted to the LSP under the alternate school option. Not only that, but most Stern applicants are pretty qualified. Why would they not be considered for LSP?

@NYUABCDE âAbout 85 percent of LSP students originally applied to CAS; the remainder are pulled mostly from the Gallatin and Tisch pools. Stern famously doesnât offer a transfer from LSPâ

@outonalimb I take that as the LSP does not allow a transfer to Stern, not that during the application process a Stern student canât be considered for LSP⊠

@NYUABCDE The article further implies that Stern rejected applicants are not offered LSP b/c they would unable to transfer to Stern via LSP⊠and were there actually any applicants on CC who were offered LSP after rejected by Stern? I believe they were either accepted or straight-on rejected.

@outonalimb I believe I read a few posts on the EDI of 2014 that questioned whether or not their LSP acceptance was binding. However, the logic behind your Stern to LSP point makes sense. Iâm not a Stern applicant so Iâm not really worried about that. It definitely does make sense though!

Iâve been lurking this thread for quite a while but I have a general question about the quote that outonalimb quoted⊠Does anyone know if Steinhardt applicants can be placed into LSP? I applied for MCC (ed2) and I got the FA change a long time ago(in case that needs to be put into account?) Thanks!x

@VioletAvenger Just curious, which school are you going to?

^ was wondering the same thing too hahah

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for LSP?
