I doubt I’m gon sleep

Oh I’m definitely staying up all night^

Since Stern acceptances come first, does this mean that the early morning 4/5AM rejections are also mostly Stern rejections?

Hello my fellow prospective NYUers! I applied EDII to NYU as well, and understandably, I am currently in a state of unrest. Extreme unrest.

If you kind people wouldn’t mind, I would appreciate if someone would chance me.

School: Tisch School of the Arts

Class Rank: My school uses a decile system, and I am somewhere in the upper 3rd decile according to my guidance counselor, putting me around the top 25% of my class.

ECs:

National Honors Society

A World of Difference Peer Leaders (Junior/Senior years, selected for membership based on a writing prompt and interview)

Science Team (Junior/Senior year, one of four students who participated in a quiz-show style qualifying competition in order to get on a quiz show on the local WGBH station, and participated in Massachusetts Science Olympiad)

Independent Video Club (new club this year, run through the local TV station; participated in the creation of various video segments related to HS, as well as a short film contest)

Volunteer Work:

Volunteer at Mission of Deeds, Inc. (a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing furniture to low-income families; three-year volunteer)

Supervisor of the Library LEGO Club (through the local public library; a monthly club where kids come to play and build with LEGO; basically, I set up and run the entire the event)

as well as miscellaneous community service throughout the years for certain events around town

Other:

Strong recommendations: Latin teacher (same one for three years) and English teacher

Strong college essay; funny, but insightful (I described my philosophy of “not being a jerk” as a way to live one’s life)

Strong supplement (reflecting my passion for NYU and New York City in general)

Strong creative portfolio (resume, leadership/collaboration anecdote, personal story, and writing sample)

Though I may be lacking a bit academically, I feel I make up for it in other respects; if NYU is truly holistic in their admissions, hopefully my low-ish GPA will be balanced out by my ECs, etc. I’m rather proud of my essay, supplement, and creative portfolio; I felt they were a good reflection of me as a person and a strong indication of my potential as a writer/storyteller.

Also, I apologize for the length, I realize the admission decisions will probably be out by the time anyone finishes reading this. However, I’m currently freaking out over this; NYU is my dream school, and it’d really suck to not get in.

what do you guys get from the two links from here?

@FloatyThings how do you have a 3.86 for your jr+sr years when you have 1 “A” in total, while the rest are A-'s and B’s?

@gucci21 … I got 2 Stern Links, why?

@chances1please @kristiano7 My FA was 2015 No Award two days before I got accepted and hasn’t changed since. I didn’t apply for FA, but I did receive a very heavy merit compensation.

@TMKNYU01 I am almost 100% sure that the first hour or two is 100% rejections. During that time, both on and off CC, everyone notified got rejected.

@chances1please Stern comes right after the first wave of rejections, I think around 8am/9am EST.

@blueducks If your Albert has been changed from CAS to LSP, it means that you are most likely being rejected by CAS and being considered for the LSP program.

A general note to the people asking about Stern → LSP or vice versa. That doesn’t happen. Ever.

And someone asked if my ED I FA was clickable. No, it wasn’t because I didn’t apply for FA. My merit compensation was clickable though.

@lyndak Enough evidence to warrant me agreeing with the Admissions Office that FA change is just a hilarious way for them to watch you guys freak out on CC. (Yes, they 100% for sure read this forum. I’ve confirmed.)

so your saying stern acceptances from 8/9am EST?

Hi guys! I’m a current NYU senior and I just wanted to say good luck to all of you guys, and not to stress out too much. While NYU is a great school, it is one of many great schools, and even if you don’t get accepted here tomorrow, I’m sure that you will end up somewhere else you’ll end up loving. If you are accepted, feel free to ask me any questions you might have!

@kristiano7 I’m saying from what I remember. Don’t take my word as gospel!

For that shibboleth link are you able to see any memberships^

@kristiano7 Does your email/stern email show up under “my profile”? (nyu service link)

@ach588 - I saw stern links

@VioletAvenger Do you know what I think is hilarious? I think it’s hilarious that you’re just some random kid who was accepted to NYU for EDI and you’re here on this forum acting like you know s h i t. I’m sorry for my language but this FA change theory has stood for a couple years now and you think you can just debunk it all with your own silly little words? Why? Cause you have a friend on the Admissions comittee? Or do you REALLY think NYU Admissions is entitled to truthfully answer, “Yes”, when you ask whether or not they read this forum? They could be lying to you too. They don’t have to tell you the truth to anything. Do you think that your phone call or your emails are better research than what we’ve gathered? Really? And how do you plan on proving this?

I know there are two people handling this VioletAvenger account and I will say that there was one who was pleasant. It’s just the other who has constantly been rude and off-putting. Whichever you are, most-recent-poster, I think you need to start respecting and acknowledging the fact that you don’t know anything for sure either. YOU’RE JUST LIKE US. You’re in the exact same position and you have no upper hand in this constant debate other than the fact that you’re in the NYU Class of 2018 group on Facebook which, heck, is the same thing as this CC thread. It’s just an online gathering of a bunch of random kids who want to, and THEORETICALLY were accepted to, NYU. Why do I say theoretically, you ask? This is the hilarious part. It’s because your own account acknowledged previously that the Facebook group admins couldn’t and can’t differentiate between who was actually accepted and who wasn’t. There’s no effective regulation. How could they? There’s no way. This means that hundreds of people in that group could be fakes. It essentially becomes the same thing as this CC forum.

My point is this: You can share your opinions and do whatever the h e l l you want on this thread. Your entitled to your own voice here on the internet. We can’t kick you out. But when you type away and respond to our comments, stop acting like you know more than we do about the FA change or what’s going on in the heads of Admissions. Cause guess what? You don’t. You’re just some random kid. You’re just the same CC user that we all are. So stop. acting. like. you. know. more.

Edit: Excuse my language, please. I’m just really frustrated at this kid.

I saw on Shawn Abott’s message he said that acceptions/rejections will only be shown in emails and not on Albert… is this so? If it is how would I see my financial aid package

@kristiano7 also under the nyu classes link do you have the option to join the Bickel & Brewer Global Debate Program under “my memberships?”

Also, does anyone have a stern id on the my profile page? (nyu service link)
