NYU Fall 2016 Transfers Official Thread

@muffinpoptarte alright, thanks for the advise!

No I did not. If you are STEM, and have high Math scores I would suggest it. Same with LA and CR scores.

Everything’s finally been checked off for me on Albert! They told me I have to send the midterm report when I asked but I’m going to wait a little on that, I think they’re much more lax with it than the main paperwork like the transcripts and college report and stuff. RD is coming up soon and then it’s our turn…in last year’s thread there were decisions posted as early as April 3rd…

@dreamingofnyu19 I submitted my app on Feb 28th, but still only the application fee has been checked off on Albert. Did you send them emails about the materials? Should I call the office to see what exactly happened…

@Baabsssssss I would call and ask. I actually called on Thursday of last week and they didn’t have my materials and called again on Tuesday (yesterday) to find they had all of it. A few hours after that phone call, Albert was updated for me. So you might have to call multiple times to check. My high school transcript went out in early March and my college transcript went out on January 26th.

i submitted my app at the end of novemeber, and my albert wasn’t updated until i called them and they told me that all my documents were received. calling deff helps @Baabsssssss

I called them about my high school transcript still haven’t check off, they told me to wait. I sent mine on late February. I sent another pack of high school transcript just now (overnight), I will call them again and make sure they received it tomorrow.

Hi, everyone, when did you guys get the Albert account? I submitted my application today, so I just wonder when can I keep track of my status?

@CooperJuniorI I got mine five days after I submitted my app

Cool, so when did you submit your app?

@CooperJuniorI 28th Feb… Still nothing but application fee was checked off. I’m gonna call the office tomorrow to see what exactly was going on

i sent my application on late january and only my application fee & sat/toefl scores(i’m an international applicant) are checked. i emailed and called the admission office and they said i should wait lol

I got an email last night from admissions letting me know what I still needed to submit as a transfer. It was not a response to anything, they just emailed me on their own as a curtesy.

@nerdycatjenni Even though im an international too, there’s no TOEFL score on my checklist… it just said Standardized Test Scores

wait nevermind. i just checked and mine’s all checked. Application Fee, College Transcript, Final High School Transcript, English Language Proficiency, and Standardized Test Scores.

originally there was no ‘English Language Proficiency’ option but now it was created. maybe it’s because i emailed the admissions office about it.

Yours will be checked off soon too. I joined the facebook page but seems like nobody’s posting anything haha

Anyways, can anyone chance me please? :

  • Applying to International Relations in NYU CAS (not sure if i'll be sophomore or junior; probably sophomore because my original major is French Studies and minor is English Translation)
  • Currently taking a semester off after getting 77 credits from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea (Famous here but not in the States I guess)
  • SAT I : 2070 (CR 600 Math 740 Writing 730) & 2040 (Cr 580 Math 800 Writing 660). Superscored: 2130
  • High school GPA: I'm not sure because the score system is quite different.. but not really good
  • College GPA: 3.8x/4.0 (last two semesters were all 4.0)
  • TOEFL: 105/120
  • Recs: from professor who holds PhD in Politics
  • ECs: member of Youth Forum in US Embassy, Volunteer as an interpreter, one-man protest about multiculturalism policy, tutor of English speech club in college, participated UN Peace Camp, part time job as a assistant translator/market researcher, part time job as freelance blog advertiser, courses from Finance Academy, English Language Institute in U of Delaware - highest level with honors, scholarships from current college, French language certificates(although now I kinda forgot), blah blah

I applyed in January 28th. I’m super nervous because of my low CR score  hope they like my math score
Lately I was accepted to UIUC global studies major… but my dream school in NYU anyways.

I think they will check off all the items that were submitted earlier (two weeks ago or earlier) because the RD decisions are coming up tomorrow. They should have more time to view the transfer application now.

@nerdycatjenni Hiiii, I’m in a similar position - I’m a sophomore now but I’m not sure if I would transfer as a sophomore or junior because some of my credits were earned in high school. Which option did you select on the CommonApp? Do you think it matters whether we say that we’re applying as a junior or sophomore?
