*NYU Fall 2018 Transfer Thread*

Is Stern gonna ask for final grades for this sem? I have a feeling that they might since they release their decision so late.

On Albert it was stated that decisions would be released approx. 4 weeks after your application was sent. I sent mine in March 31st; did anyone happen to submit earlier than I did to Stern?

kinda hope stern doesn’t ask for final grades… I submitted my midterm report with straight a’s but u never know

Is it a bad thing if they don’t ask for your midterm report?

So i wss just on linkedin and i got a notification that i appeared in one search this week and the person worked at NYU higher education… should i be worried? The only thing i have on my linkedin is where I got o school.

I also haven’t heard back

I don’t think midterm report indicates any good or bad news, I applied to NYU before and they asked me for my midterm report and I still got denied while I also know people who got asked for their midterm report and got in. I wouldn’t worry if you did or didn’t get asked.

All of my friends have heard back from CAS already. They all have GPA’s similar or much higher than mine. I have not heard back. Is this a bad sign? I know my application may not be the best. I’m applying to CAS

I believe my essays are at least good standing.

Am I on the edge or are they waiting to send people rejection letters?

just curious… why is it a bad sign that we haven’t heard back yet? only a small pool of people on this thread have gotten in so I don’t think it’s a cause for alarm if anyone hasn’t heard back yet. rejections tend to come out towards the very very end and even then, at the end of may a lot of people last year were still getting in. were on the 7th of may and can’t lose hope yet  fingers crossed for the wave tomorrow!

also I know this may have been answered before, but being able to log into orgsync and have an nyu email is considered a ‘change’? or no?

@tangerine12 I am just on alert because everyone I know who has applied has heard back. All positive. As you said, rejections tend to come out at the very end, and since I haven’t heard, I just worry.
I didn’t know there was a wave coming out tomorrow, but best of luck to you and everyone!

There will be a wave tomorrow or weds. It’s funny, at this point I am not even worried and checking albert 30 times a day. I used to call them almost every other day just hoping to get some information. Now I am just in a state that I don’t really care anymore, they can take their time, and I am just gonna wait calmly lol. It’s taking way too long and I don’t have any feeling anymore. Good Job NYU. Now I won’t be as stressed and sad if I got rejected XD

Hello all—

My albert looks a little different than it did before, it has self-tests and surveys but nowhere for me to click on for an admissions decision. What do yours look like? Has anyone from Gallatin heard? Where did those who have received their decisions find out?

@tangerine12 There’ve been countless people in this thread in the past weeks saying they got rejected. And I’m sure even more people who’ve already been rejected but who’ve been too ashamed/embarrassed (needlessly, I might add) to say so in this thread. If there is a correlation between when you get your decision and whether you get admitted or rejected, it’s probably not as strong as you think it is.

That said, access to Orgsync and NYU email have already been debunked as meaningful changes, I believe.

@Malcontent thanks for your input but what i said is that last year’s thread seemed to have the majority of rejections at the end of may. what i commented prior was a reflection of that observation. since we haven’t reached “the end of the period” i wanted to give people some hope that if they felt they were being rejected because of the long wait, we have to remain hopeful because we really have no clue. the small pool i said that got in was through the people that said so on here, and there was about 8-11. that’s not a lot for a public forum. sure there are countless others in the world but what i said was towards the people on this forum.

also regarding org sync thats what i thought. it seems like the financial aid change up to this point has been the only indicator. thanks.

@Malcontent Doesn’t everyone have access to orgsync and email? @tangerine12 What does the fin aid change look like?

@r3j3ct3d1 i asked malcontent the question  i was just confirming that it wasn’t the ‘albert changes’. everyone does according to feed back!
the financial aid change can be different in 2 ways. it’ll say 2018-2019 new york university inquiry access denied. it’s nothinf super specific it’ll just say the year. the second isn’t a financial aid change but generally accompanies the financial aid change. your housing portal will change from Summer 201& to Fall 2018! hope this helps

@tangerine12 Ah, I misread your post. Whoops.

@r3j3ct3d1 Yes, that was my point.

@tangerine12 Where does it say “2018-2019 new york university inquiry access denied?” Is it when you click fin aid?

@r3j3ct3d1 that would be the financial aid change under viewing your financial aid summary. if it’s not there that means you haven’t gotten the change. not to worry though! there are some people who never got the change and people who did. they’re just pre indicators of acceptance but not a whole ‘yes’. like a grain of salt
