NYU Non-Transferable Credits Considered?

I have a question that is really bothering me!

At a CC i have a 3.92 if I don't count the remedial math classes I took before Calculus.

Unfortunately, when my the remedial classes are considered, my GPA is brought down to 3.83.

I'm hoping to transfer to Gallatin. Will they view my GPA as 3.92 or will they consider the remedial classes and view my GPA as 3.83.

Thanks for all the help!

I believe they look at all classes that you’ve taken, so they’re going to go with the 3.83 (I believe that’s the gpa that’s posted on your transcript anyway.) Good job on the gpa, though. My gpa is also a 3.92, and I’m also planning on transferring to NYU.

Thanks for the help.

If that’s the case, do I have a shot at NYU Gallatin still? I am transferring as a junior and have around 250 volunteer hours. I also have an excellent essay and great extracurricular (have worked on several campaigns, serve on a couple boards, etc).

Unfortunately, my HS GPA is very low and I haven’t taken a SAT to send in. Also, my first semester at CC includes 3 Ws because I had to move halfway through the semester to work on a campaign.

Please let me know what you think about my chances with a 3.83. Also, how much better chances would i have if my GPA was around a 3.9.

Thanks.

Also, what would my chances be at Steinhardt for Communications?
