NYU(NY) ED1 2018 Discussion

I can’t wait any longer the fact that this program change is meaningless has raised my anxiety level.

At least you got some change at all…

Hey guys, just wanna say that don’t worry if your FA message hasn’t changed. It doesn’t mean anything and we won’t be able to know until Friday. If your program changed, think positively and relax because it’s better than nothing. Bottom line, go enjoy yourself before the decisions are out! Go watch a movie, go hang out with friends, study for finals, eat more and watch some TV, five days are not that far away.

Way to go Jen!! Hope to be accepted as well

If you apply to Poly, can they put you in LSP?

So rumor/past years have it…rejections are sent out first. Last year, it seems like rejections were sent out at about 3am…I’m going to be sooo nervous when I wake up on Friday. If I check my email and have a rejection waiting for me…uhhh yeah.

I applied ED1 to stern for finance, my stats are ACT 32 4.2/4.0 wgpa, decent essays, good ec’s. In the supplemental, I talked about how I was interested in economics/finance and to be in the fields of real estate, asset pricing, or corporate finance. I did say I want to be considered for other programs within the NYU campus. My FA changed last week, but my program was also changed to the Real Estate Program. It went from Stern to Real Estate Program and the description changed form finance to Real Estate (I think those were the changes). What does this mean??

It’s just a glitch on Albert seems like everyone’s getting a program change

I don’t know about everyone’s, but if your intended major changed, I think you should contact admissions and ask what’s going on.

Yea someone ought to call tomorrow. I might.

@idontlikewaiting wow that’s weird. Do you mind take a screenshot? I would definitely call the admission people to ask about the change

I’m not sure how to post a screen shot on here but here’s what it says verbatim.

Term | Program | Description|Degree| Admit Type | Notification Plan
Fall 2014|Real Estate Program|Real Estate|BS |New Freshman| Early Decision I

I could have sworn it said stern in program and finance as description before the FA change. I know that NYU has a new undergrad real estate program at schack and stern has real estate classes as well. Though NYU has an amazing real estate grad program, the undergrad program is really new and not exactly reputable yet. im just confused at this point.

Suggest you call like many Will tomorrow. You may be able to smooth info out of them. I’m going to as well and see if I can get a meaning to it like am I LSPed?

The LSP change has been happening since last year and someone called to see if it has any correlation but NYU denied the claim and said that it was merely because they’re both considering the applicant for CAS and LSP, hence the program change. However, from the results, we can see clearly that it does mean the applicant got LSPed (from the people who post their decisions at least–so no responders may have gotten rejected). I’m sorry I can’t find the post right now.

But since so many people are getting program changes–including non LSPs (and one case where the LSP applicant got changed into CAS) probably indicates that this is a weird glitch going on. (For non LSPs at least.)

I didn’t know NYU has a real estate program. I feel like it’s more like a messed up system than any glitch

Well I’m going to call anyway and see if they can tell me something. Does it mean one was denied from CAS? I’ll call

Yeah guys, please stop letting others make assumptions for you. If you’re worried about changes just make a call to the admission office. Honestly, all this extra stress isn’t helping anyone.

I didn’t either so I did some research, apparently the grad program at SCPS is good. They just made an undergrad program for real estate a couple years ago which offers more specialized classes. I don’t really want to attend any other schools at NYU besides Stern. Also (for next years applicants), I didnt apply for FA so a rejection would hurt.

@idontlikewaiting I LOVE YOUR USERNAME

so does the program change mean nothign?
