I think we all need to stop asking this stuff - none of us know the answers, and can only speculate. Someone should call admissions…or email since it’s Sunday.

To me, CC is all about the speculation :P.

Guys, we only have a few more days left, and then all our questions will be answered! Ahh its so close, but it seems like time is going more slowly the closer we get to it.

okay no more speculating but i have a general question- did they ever verify the dates for notification? the 13th or 15th?

@gaborik10 Honestly, even if it does mean anything, I highly doubt that they will tell you that it does.

Ally-they confirmed that emails will start to be sent out VERY early morning Friday the 13th (what a nasty date)
-Henry

Well idk, siren you have the change as well. What do you truly think?

@gaborik10 Based solely on last year’s results, I feel like the LSP change indicates that we’ve been rejected from CAS and put into LSP (and hopefully not total rejection). However, that could change this year because I have no idea what the other weird changes are that seems exclusive to this year’s applicants.

It’d be worth a shot to ask, I guess.

Friday’s early morning? But the Albert says that it will be 5 pm…NYU’s admission is a mess I think :-(

@Siberian Siren and others whose status changed to LSP, stats?

I just really hope we’re not totally rejected. Best of luck to us. I would love LSP. In hindsight I should have applied to it directly.

@ rocky roughly 1920 3.7 UW 4.0 W 4 APs senior year with 12 in total Top 8% Strong essays Good ECs. Umm first gen if that has any weight xD.

As a parent who has watched this process for many years, I will say that the changes do mean something. FA changes that show the year have been an indication of admission. The change happens whether or not you applied to FA. A change to a different program does seem to show acceptance in the second program. And regardless of what official policy has said, there are changes to Albert that showed up (an accept/ decline button) the day they sent out decisions, but before an acceptance email was sent.

That said, these changes do not happen all at once. So there are going to be people who are accepted who see the changes early and others who see things later. The FA change seems to be an indication that one’s FA package has been posted. It comes after acceptance to the school. Obviously until you are accepted, NYU is not going to create a FA package for you. But these acceptances do not happen all at once, especially for talent based or special programs.

So not seeing changes doesn’t mean you are rejected. But for those that see changes, I think it’s fair to be at least a little bit relieved!

Hope your right cause I’ve had two changes haha

@uskoolfish Thanks for your post. A friend who got accepted to NYU last year tells me the same thing. However, I guess we can’t be too sure. I thought from the results thread there were people with the FA change but got rejected (unless that’s not the case—someone said that in this thread).

@uskoolfish Hey parent! Thank you for the information! I found it very helpful! so If your FA changed, then it inidcates that you are accepted? I thought everybody’s FA has changed at this point.

@sundychen95 Not everybody’s. But some will see the change sometime later this week.

@sunny not quite there are some who haven’t maybe those who have posted have had changes. But also remember there are a lot of qualified people on CC.

When did your child’s FA change - like how close to the decision?

Nothing is guaranteed. I cannot tell you what NYU is doing THIS year, but I can tell you with confidence what happened in the last 3 years.

So, good luck all!
