@onesmallpenguin people from last year’s ed II did that but i’m still just as confused and anxious haha

@yungmoney

haha its alright, i’m here thinking everything is a omen for my NYU results LOL

I feel like that thread made it seem like the FA change makes a difference.

@siberian, what’s the deal with your friend?

@emily
wow we’re so similar it’s ridiculous… i’m also hoping that experience w/ running my own business will make up for poor grades in classes like ap chem (why did i even take that class???)

@emily i wrote about my aunt in my essay haha, thought i would casually slide it in there. and SAME i thought my essays were so good at first, then i reread them yesterday and now they are just generic and boring sob

and yes i am chinese! took 7 years of chinese school unfortunately -____-

@yungmoney don’t worry, i got c+s in honors chem and honors precalc because both those teachers were hard as **** and my precalc teacher gave pop quizzes like everyday. those classes TANKED my gpa

@thebob
okay that’s relieving. i really don’t think we should take anything on albert seriously, lol

@yungmoney
yeah man, we basically have the same GPA/SAT…DUDEEE i suffer in AP/IB BIO. science classes smh. Im a IB diploma candidate and my school only offers like 10 IB classes which totally screwed me up.

btw, this might be inappropriate to ask, but are you asian of any sort? just curious LOL.

@spongebob
LOL “casually slide” awh man, I feel like every aspect of this app is making me crazy.
i wished i could have said more about how i could have contributed to nyu

@emilyy youre also in IB? did u apply with SAT or predicted scores?

Asians unite tonight!? loljk seems like a lot of asians are applying, I’m chinese but born in America. ^^ Don’t stress too hard guys, whatever happens happens.

I feel like that thread made it seem like the FA change makes a difference. does anyone else agree?

@emily
My father is a black african and my mom is a pale-skinned iranian.

do i get diversity points?!

@rocky
it does seem like that. i’m curious to see if anyone who DID get the change end up NOT getting accepted.

@rocky i agree with you, yet the RD thread proved them wrong so idk what to think.

@rclvrr yeah im in IB! I applied with my transcript… my teachers showed me my predicted scores and they were like 30/45 (or 42, whatever the total was)…which basically = failure
and i didn’t take much SAT IIs where I actually got a decent grade.

what about you?

For the FA, I think subconsciously we all believe it will make a change, though we try to convince ourselves otherwise.

@yungmoney
you would definitely get an advantage compared to me (because im asian LOL).
its really annoying because all the Asians have like perfect grade + GPA and when I’m compared with the rest of the asian pool…im like an utter failure.

@emily i applied with my predicted with was a 39/45. i had a 30 on my act but i ddnt want to send that as i thought my predicted was better, but who knows lol.

@businessgeek

did you FA change?

@emily don’t think of yourself that way, lol. Some asians just study their asses off and don’t really know much else (i consider myself like that except with a touch of sports haha) My asian friend went to rutgers year 1 and transferred into Nyu later. Im sure whatever is in the future will be fine.

Edit: And i never realized the FA changed, it’s always been no self service available 2015 yadda yadda since the first time i checked it. :/

How about this LSP change? Do you think that having it. Changed to LSP means you have a good chance if getting in? I can’t find any threads about that from past nyu hopefuls ;0
