@pika329. Yup, mine says the same thing. I get a feeling everyone’s changed to this. So, although it’s a little early to say we got rejected. Let’s jut hope and wait until it turns into 2014 FA not accessible.

Hey guys, I’m a bit behind on all this financial aid stuff.

Is having “2014 New York University Award access not available.” a good or bad thing? Anyone care to explain?

@korrga. In theory, you are going to be accepted. Just a theory though

According to the theory:
If your financial aid says:
“Select Aid Year to View
2014- Award Access not Available”
That means you have been accepted
and if it says
“No Information Available”
that means you have not been accepted or they have not yet updated your portal/finished your financial aid packet
and the change can happen regardless of the school you applied to and if you applied for aid
refer to the ED II thread for examples (there aren’t that many but all the ones given support the theory)
… so yeah, thats a good thing… but if i were you, i’d suggest waiting until acceptances come out to get too excited… cause if the theory is wrong, that would just make a rejection feel so much worse

Mine changed and I applied to CAS. Don’t when it changed, though. I was skimming CC when I heard about the theory and went to check albert and FA had changed. Hope it changes for you.

@hopeseternal12, Did your “program” change too?

well now im nervous i my finanical aid hasn’t been updated :’(

I’m sorry but i dont think the financial aid thing means that much. I mean my counselor told me NYU should be like a low match for me.

@xomon11. I have some of the same questions. When i saw the FA status change, I stopped checking D’s page. Just checked it this morning and saw the program change to Liberal Studies. Disappointed. I’ve done some light research, and while as someone said above, the program change is common, I’m not sure NYU will be worth the money now. It looks like the professors in LS are not the same category as the regular NYU ones, much lower salaries. The same i think is true for those at the abroad sites where many LS students go freshman year. So, unless the LS offer comes with a steep tuition discount, is it worth it? Also found this about a senate investigation of NYU finances in my research, which i find very troubling to say the least

@SHHSEL you’re right but check out this link: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1313093-accepted-students-financial-aid.html
LLee424 had the same thing on his/her financial aid page but he/she got in? I don’t want to get my hopes up but at the same time I’m so confused!!! Ugh this is killing me! Whatever the case is, we will know next week. :)

I just hope this “theory” is correct( my FA status changed on 3/7?), even though such signs should be frowned upon.

What a chagrin if I became a case where I had FA status change and did not get in…
that’s even more distressing

@Patti17
That is an extremely disturbing letter. Nearly all of the applicants would be able to go for nearly free. But, I suppose that’s corruption for you.

what is this program change everyone is talking about? I didn’t know universities are allowed to change your program for you… Does it mean anything if mine didn’t change? I applied to stern

@corrinder94
The program change is for those that opted to enter the first year liberal studies program. If you didn’t opt in when you applied then your program will not change. It basically is just doing your generals abroad.

my program changed to LSP but I hope they let me study in the NYC campus …

I didn’t check the box for doing the liberal studies program, so I don’t expect mine to change.

Hey everyone, I’m joining the conversation a little late.

Could anyone tell me when you guys are speculating decisions will be released? And are you expecting them via snail mail or online?

My friend applied to NYU and was wondering.

@CLM2017
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be next Friday or thereabouts. There will probably be some sort of email notification and then you can view your decision through the Albert portal.

I just found out my FA status changed to ‘Award access not available’ even when I haven’t applied for FA.

Hey everyone, my fa status has not yet change (I did apply for fa), but my program did not change to lsp either (I did indicate to consider me for this, if I did not get in). Does this mean I’m rejected or have they just not gotten to my fa application yet, I did submit late as in on the day of the deadline.
