I THINK I want to be a communications major. I think. My options are BC or NYU. Which one is better? BC actually has a communications major, whereas in the CAS of NYU, there’s just a “journalism” major. NYC definitely has the edge over Boston as far as internships go… but is that worth it if the communications major at BC might be more what I want? What do you think will affect job recruiting more?

Which college do you think has more prestige? I know people say they are kind of on equal footing, but I’m not so sure. I’ve heard some say that NYU is more heard-of, and others say that BC still has better academics. I know prestige doesn’t really mean anything, and it shouldn’t influence my decision, but I’m still wondering.

Thanks for your input!

NYU has more "prestige" to the average person I think, but I have no idea why.

^^^ b/c it's located in New York City and it's a good university.

I would choose NYU based on the factors you've given.

In the Steinhardt School of Education at NYU, they have a specific communications major.

I am currently a freshman at NYU, looking to transfer out, either to BC or Cornell. BC and NYU have two totally different school atmospheres. If I were you, I'd really look into that. BC has a beautiful campus and has tons of school spirit, while NYU doesn't really have a set apart campus, is pretty dispersed, and doesn't really have any school spirit. But it is right in NYC. As for BC, you are separated from the city, but its only a quick 'T' ride away.

Good luck with your decision.
