to any accepted/enrolled NYU students--or to anyone in general:

do the four NYU supplement essays have to be as eloquently and amazingly written as the primary Common App essay, or can they be more casual? i'm currently a junior and i'm beginning the five essays now so that i can have more time to fine tune them.

your help is appreciated.

Wow writing essays and applications as a junior. You need to get a life and have some fun. Life doesn't end if you don't get into Harvard.

i do have a life, i just want to get into the college i want to. is that so bad?

and if i remember, this is the NYU thread, not harvard. i'm not even shooting for an ivy league...

Well the four statements should be short and to the point---don't waste time introducing anything just go right into it. They should be strong, short, and with no fluff whatsoever.

thank you sagecoll.

Wait, you need five essays?

But I'm only a sophomore so I won't worry now...I guess...

yes. 1 major essay and 4 "personal statements"
