Anyone know the acceptance rates for transfers for each of the colleges?
@purple229 there are no specific numbers I can find but under the transfer applicant requirements, they specify if a school is harder to get into than others. Here’s the link https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/how-to-apply/transfer-applicants/additional-program-requirements.html
My guess is the harder schools to get into are CAS, Gallatin, and Stern
@jakecap1123 I feel like Tisch is a bit harder to get into than CAS just because of the amount of extra materials that have to be submitted and then the subjective-ness of the people viewing the extra materials.
Hi. Does anyone know where can I find the stats for the number of transfer applicants applied to each college?
I can only find the total number of transfer applicants online.
@TrinityT where do you find the total number? What is it?
@Clementine7624 I forgot where I see it, but it was something around 8000 applicants. I am just wondering if the these 8000 people are evenly distributed to apply for each colleges. But i am guessing not.
Its just that the wait is freaking me out and I wanna see if looking at the figures help.
@TrinityT @Clementine7624 http://www.nyu.edu/ir/factbook/ (scroll to the bottom, click on the years, and go to transfer admission) has a bunch of stats about transfer admission if you wanna take a look
@theboywhodied thanks. I looked at the last two years and without an actual calculator - does look like transfer admission rate was about 25 percent of applicants. Yikes.
“does look like transfer admission rate was about 25 percent of applicants. Yikes.”
That’s significantly better odds than the freshman admission rate.
@theboywhodied Thanks
If I applied as Stern for my first choice and CAS as my alternate, but still havent heard back, is that an indication of a rejection?
@whereto2022 based on the feedback on cc - doesn’t seem like most people have heard anything
@whereto2022 No, I’m pretty how it works is that they’ll read your application when all the rest of Stern applications are read since you applied to Stern as your first option. That’ll probably be late May, though you might get into CAS instead of Stern after late May due to the fact they might consider you to be a better fit at CAS instead of Stern.
I am applying to Steinhardt and in my application status it didn’t indicate that I am applying to Steinhardt, is that normal?
@TrinityT I’m applying to Tandon and it just says “First-Year, Transfer, and 2nd Bachelor’s Degree applicants: please navigate to the Application Status Page to see your status. If you have been offered admission, you will click on the button above to go through the accept/decline process” on my page so I’m guessing it’s normal.
@jw8001 Thats a relief to know its normal. i am starting to doubt each item in my portal because of the wait. Hope I won’t be crazy by the time I get the email. Haha. Thanks so much
Im applying to Tisch, and everything on my portal is checked off except for “Standardized Test Scores.” im transferring with more than 32 units so I shouldn’t be worried about this right? Anyone else have this?
@yessiryasir I had the same thing, it said Awaiting for a couple weeks so I emailed them and made sure they didnt need them, someone emailed me back and waived them the next day.
just got a request to send my midterm report - they emailed me though saying my app was incomplete and told me to submit by next monday or else my app won’t be considered :// on my albert portal it didnt say that anything was missing though which is weird
thoughts on this ?? is this bad that they asked
@basketball45 it happen to someone else before. I think it is pretty normal. don’t worry
