NYU Transfer for Spring 2013

God damnit.

I knew it!!! My application is incomplete, why wouldn’t they tell me before :frowning: I just got this:
“Dear Student,

We are completing our transfer evaluation process for Spring 2013, and we are still missing important documents from your file. Please contact us as soon as possible at (NYU’s number) what information is needed for us to make a decision on your application. When you call, please ask to speak to an Admission Assistant who will check the status of your application materials.

If you must email rather than call, you may direct your inquiry to adXXXsions.opsatXXX.edu. In your email, be sure to provide your full name and your NYU ID number, which is XXXXXXXXX, or your date of birth.

I will not be able to personally check your status, but one of our Admissions staff members will certainly look into your file and get back to you as soon as possible with a response.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Shawn L. Abbott
Assistant Vice President for Admissions“

I hope none of you got this, I really think it is my HS transcript. I called and they shut me down due to the large volume of calls ¬¬

I received the same message as well. I just emailed them. Hopefully they’ll reply soon.

Morning guys!

Just checked the app status check and the page is super slow. All of my pages were blank, completely wiped clean of any messages I read you guys yesterday. The pages are back now with text. Also incredibly slow. Hopefully we get an answer today!

False alarm for me guys, apparently my application is complete and they had just made a mistake when filling my transcripts. I definitely won’t hear back today but hopefully next week or first of November!!!

@ohmymarc yea, who knows? Maybe you will be one of the first to hear back, good luck!!!

So I called NYU and they were really helpful. They said the NYU network is having issues today, but don’t know if it’s going as far to affect the application status checker. Tried reopening with a different browser, and its still being difficult. Hopefully this is an update on the portal, with decisions, and not a service issue! Anyone else experiencing this?

yeah i cant open the FA or application status checker. Had my checklist filled for a week at this point.

Hello guys,

I am applying to NYU CAS.

Some important news about the decisions. I called them just a few minutes ago, and they told me that the decisions will be made on rolling admission (F***! I applied just a day before the deadline). Also, we should expect to get them not earlier than the beginning of December.
Oh well.

@gogogogo1 I think rolling admissions means that the decisions will be released on different days instead of all of them at once. I think it doesn’t matter if you applied just before the deadline, which I also did by the way, lets not worry

Tomeu11,

Unfortunately, I was actually told that the earlier you applied the sooner you will hear. I mean, I don’t mind if this has nothing to do with my chances of getting in (but I feel like it does since spots might be already filled before they even start looking at my application.)Well, lets not panic. Eh.
Its just… the finals are coming, and I don’t want to be worried or stressed about my NYU application while studying for them… I just want to know already! :)

I applied mid-September, so I should be amongst the first ones to hear, if that’s true

if that is true then it is not like the fall transfer process since back then all my materials were checked off since february and i got my answer on the beginning of the 4th week of may

My admissions counselor specifically told me that for spring and transfer students, the time you apply holds zero effect on your chances

You can apply after getting rejected for fall 2012? When I talked to the admissions office they said you have to wait an entire calendar year to reapply. Has the policy changed?

supercolosall,

I also remember reading about this on NYU website…

In my rejection email it says that there is not appealing process but that I can reapply again “next year“ it didn’t say anything about not being eligible as a Spring transfer

you should probably call the admissions office, but maybe its fine. I mean you applied already anyway so im sure its fine

Got a midterm grades request last night.

Nice, I sent in mine along with other materials of my application 3 weeks ago so I guess I won’t get that request. Maybe despite what some people heard some will hear next week; after all, they told me they would send people with incomplete applications an email early next week and it was sent 2 days ago.
