Browsing some old NYU threads. You guys have tried to transfer before? Were you accepted? Rejected? Waitlisted? Turned it down because of aid? What’s your experience on decision timing? Any changes on Albert that can indicate that beforehand? Tell us your experience!

Rejected for Stern in Fall 2011, Waitlisted for Stern for Fall 2012, and now trying for CAS Econ. As I said before, first week of December should be when decisions come out. As for changes on Albert, transfer credits showing up means you definitely got in.

Rejected for Fall 2012. Timing is a *****, it always take pretty long but I agree that we should hear back on the first week of Dec. perhaps the second. I also agree with the credits thing, if they show up, you are in. I’m applying for CAS Psych, I think that the first time they rejected me because I had taken only 14 credits on my first semester and had a W… This is the second semester in a row that I take 19 credits, overall GPA 3.85 and midterm 4.0. If I don’t get in this time I’ll be really disappointed :/

Thanks for your responses! It seems like all of us have some sort of little problem. My high school grades suck, you’ve both dealt with rejections, a W, etc. Makes me feel better that we’re in the same boat! When did you guys submit your apps? Mine was checked off 10/10.

Mine says 11/06 lol does anybody have any updates? Did transfer credit show? I’m do impatient since mid December is the deadline to pay tuition at my current university

Hello everyone. Good luck to all of you! Just wondering, since there doesn’t seem to be a transfer thread for the fall, what you all think of my chances:

~3.6 GPA (still waiting for this semester’s grades, might be a bit higher)
Average-ish softs
URM (Hispanic and biracial)
95 credits or so. Hope this isn’t a problem. Don’t mind losing any of them!

I plan on taking next semester off and interning/working in NYC. Hopefully I’ll find something that makes my application more appealing.

Also, I’ve visited several times (both the UG and the LS). They probably won’t notice, but there it is FWIW.

Thanks in advance. And, again, absolute best of luck to all of you!

I am a senior this year and apply to transfer to NYU for econ major. GPA is 3.5. I am a international student, tofel is also important thing to me.I think it’s hopeless for me this year. perhaps I will apply again.

NYU requires 64 NYU credits to apply for a bachelors from the university. You can find that on their website. Considering you have much more than that, I would not be expecting an acceptance letter. Why would you transfer your senior year of college anyway?

Hi everyone, just wondering, on Albert how many of the items are supposed to be checked off? For me the application fee, final high school transcript, SAT scores, and college transcript are checked off. Am I missing something?
Thank you and good luck to everyone!

I’m from California but I go to school in Boston. My high school grades were not that good only about a 3.4. My college GPA is around a 3.8.
Does anyone know if high school grades play a big role in whether or not you get accepted/rejected?
Thank you and good luck to everyone!

@ejh1993 It depends. Usually if you have 30+ units universities won’t place too much emphasis on your HS record, if you have less then it will have more weight in your application. Then again, that is just guessing we do in the forum.
