NYU Transfer for Spring 2013

@Tomeu11
Were you able to access information about housing and classes after you accepted?

@ejh1993
So far I received a couple of confirmation emails activated my google apps and my NYU email. Once you are accepted, on the application status tab in Albert, a new unchecked section will appear, it is labelled “Final College Transcripts“ but I don’t think that was there before I received my acceptance email.

@Tomeu11
I received the email saying that I was accepted but that was the only email that I received. Did it take a while for NYU to send you other emails?

@ejh1993
Congratulations!! When did you get it? I got the other emails the day after the admissions email came. Did they transfer all your credits?

@Tomeu11
Thanks! Congrats to you too! I got in on Tuesday but I haven’t received any other emails on Wednesday. Did you get the emails after you accepted? I don’t think all my credits were transferred. It says that the status is “tentative.” How about you?

@ejh1993
Well, did you accept the offer and paid the $500.00? Maybe that is the problem, also, I believe that the transfer credit is just preliminary and that it will be further reviewed when we have the orientation.

@Tomeu11
Yes, I did accept and pay the $500. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see…hopefully I get the email by friday…
Thanks for all your help!

Is it bad news if I haven’t received a request for submitting my Mid-Term Report?

@ejh1993
It should come soon, email them in any case, you are a soon to be NYU student now! They have to answer directly :slight_smile:

@emorywaiting
It doesn’t have to be bad, maybe they just have not started to review your file.

@Tomeu11
Do you know who I should email?

@ejh1993
Just the general admissions email will be fine. You will have the email in tomorrow morning with all probability anyway. You’re in, don’t worry!

Hey I just found this thread and I thought I’d jump in! I’m a current college freshman and I applied to the MCC major in Steinhardt as a transfer for Spring 2013! I was originally waitlisted when I applied for Fall 2012 as an incoming freshman. Just wanted to say congratulations to those who were accepted and best of luck to all who are still waiting to hear, like myself!

I am an International transfer, still waiting…

I’m also a freshman transfer! where you guys from? whatre your stats?

Still no one else here applying for gallatin?

@Tomeu
Did you receive your financial aid award with your acceptance letter?

@ohmymarc
I didn’t apply for FA so I didn’t get anything on that.

I see that apparently no decisions were made today which means next Tuesday can be a big day again. Good luck to you all!

talked to an admissions counselor on the phone yesterday. he said to expect a decision the first week of december. fingers crossed!
also, what’s your (general your) opinion on transfer admission if i was accepted as a freshman in 2010? my college grades are not quite as good as my high school grades, but my resume/activities are just as good, if not better.

@supercolosall Well, I’m a hopeful Freshman transfer (like you!) for Steinhardt MCC. I applied as an incoming freshman but I ended up getting wait listed. HS GPA about a 3.5, decent SAT, good EC’s, letters of rec, etc. As far as college goes I currently attend a 4- year public university, still super involved with EC’s and sent in two A’s and two B’s at midterm. I’m so nervous to hear it’s all I can think about!

Well, just some info for when you all get accepted. Our orientation will be on the 24-25 of January; it kind of seems I can schedule courses now but thats what one of the advisors told me. I have also emailed housing and their email will come around by mid-December, perhaps earlier, all incoming transfer students are guaranteed housing as long as they submit the housing application before the deadline.
