NYU Transfer for Spring 2013

Hey guys!
From my understanding acceptance decisions go out on Thursdays. I’m putting my eggs in that basket. The sooner, the better, but from reading previous threads- Thursdays are the day.
As for credits, there are quite a few of us with not-so-good high school grades here (me included). From my understanding, NYU can make a decision without your high school transcript. If you are admitted, they require the transcript as a formality (NY state law or something). I was accepted to Fordham last week, bad high school grades and all, so maybe this whole formality thing is true. I know Fordham isn’t as selective as NYU but it’s close. Let’s all cross our fingers!

I guess that by your understanding you mean reading past threads, am I right? Thursdays are definitely important days, but some Tuesdays are also special for us. Maybe transfer credits will show up soon to some of us! By the way, congrats on Fordham!!

I got in! I got iiiiiiinnnnnnnn!!! I told you tuesdays can be lucky!!! Good luck to you all!!!

wow congratulations!!! howd you find out??

@tomeu11, congrats, good for you. How’d you find out? Did your transfer credit show up before?

It did not, I got an email this morning at 9 30 am!! im so excited ill be here with you guys until the end! :)

Awesome, has your transfer credit shown up now?

yes, all my college credits transfer except for a 1 credit seminar course I took my freshman year. I don’t know about my IB credits, I’ll have to ask about those.

whatre your full stats?

Transfer from: PSU - University Park
Major: Psychology(CAS applicant)
Entering as: Sophomore/Junior (I don’t know if my IB credits will transfer)
College GPA: 3.85 at 33 credits; a 4.0 in my midterm with 19 credits
HS GPA: not good, took the IB so I had like a 3.4 or 3.5 I guess. The IB was really hard at my school.
EAs: Summer non-paid internship at a big company working within my field of study, then some stuff from HS not much. I did get a stellar rec from my internship supervisor tho.
SAT: superscore was a 1960 I think…
LOR: Another stellar letter, the professor who wrote it knows me very well and likes me a lot.

I’m so happy!! Ask me any questions!

CONGRATS @Tomeu!!!
That is so exciting. Sending you lots of positive energy over here! I also went to an IB high school, hopefully they’re okay with two IBers :)

Hang in there everyone, at least we are still in the running!

Hopefully there aren’t rejections going out Thursday o.O

@Tomeu
When did you submit your apps?

I said a few posts ago, on Albert it says submitted on 11/06/2012, so that theory that the earlier you submit it the earlier you get the answer doesn’t hold up.

Got a request for a midterm report, prob should of included on initially. Oh well hopefully the fact that they asked is a good sign.

congrats tomeu, hit me up when you come visit the city. i’ll show you around. i’ll pm you my number. good luck to everyone else!

@tomeu
did your transfer credit show up before you got the email?

Just called NYU (clearly getting kind of desperate). Spoke directly with my admissions counselor and she was as helpful as she could be. She stated that yesterday was the first day admissions decisions went out, so congrats to @Tomeu again for being first choice amongst applicants!
That being said, she made it sound like NYU is pretty timely (not sure about the actuality of this) about transfer apps due to everyone’s time restrictions/deposit dates at other schools. She also hinted at a decision coming out for me in early December. Hopefully if any of you guys also applied in early october, you’re in the same boat, too! Hope this helps!

@supercolosall As I said, the transfer credit had not shown up before I received my admission. Do not worry if on any Monday or Wednesday night it doesn’t show up because you can still be accepted!

@ohmymarc You flatter me haha thanks a lot. Good luck to you all, next week is already early December so I’m looking forward to reading your celebration posts and congratulating you guys!

@ohmymarc
yeah i spoke to mine as well, she basically told me that the next wave admissions are going to come out this coming tuesday.

Looks like thursdays may not be involved this year.
