NYU-->UC concerns

i go to NYU now but am hoping to transfer to UCB, UCD, or UCSB (in order of preference) but have some options/concerns:

gpa: 3.7
major: not fully decided: possibly bio or neuroscience, premed track
extras: deans list, volunteer at physical rehab center

1) im from california, so technically still a california resident, but since NYU is out of state do i fall in the unlikey-to-be-admitted out of state pile?

2) its fall semester right now, so if i were to leave NYU and go to a california community college for the spring semester would my chances increase? or would the admissions ppl look down on it?

3) what majors am i MORE likely to get in to each of the UCs for. i do not have my heart set on anything, i like all sciences and would be willing to choose based on what makes me more likely to be admitted.

do i have a chance?!?!?!?!

thanks so much, its all i can think about and im going to try and set up a date to meet with an admissions officer to get more info but ANY input will help!!

If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to leave NYU? If I could get into NYU I would be happy.

its a money issue, UCs would be half the cost of NYU
