You will know by next week, but you can find out earlier. Like I said, I’m from Iowa so they called me. I assume most will just get it in the mail.

You guys don’t have to believe us, but individuals have been accepted off of the wait list. I’ve followed this thread since my family member was waitlisted and even though I don’t have any posts, I thought that posting this info would be helpful. And LombardiLegacy is correct–if you’re accepted you should hear by the end of next week (as all deadlines for waitlist and housing are next week).

My family is from NYC so we received the package via UPS overnight mail. The acceptance letter and deposit form was dated May 26 and we received the package on the 26th. The package included a purple NYU folder, acceptance letter, a sheet of paper titled “Your Guide to NYUHome Version 6” and two brochures: “General Instructions” and “DiscoverNYU.”

We walked the deposit (check and candidate reply form) to the NYU Undergraduate Admissions Processing Office since it has to be received within two weeks of the dated acceptance letter. Also, students can only access the housing application (which is due on June 3rd) AFTER the admissions office has processed the check.

Good luck to everyone who has yet to hear!!

^ wat school in NYU?

Steinhardt

Stern. I feel extremely relieved after getting in

So two stern people already? :x
Congrats though!

You still have a chance. The lady who called said most packages will arrive next week. She only called because I’m from Iowa so it will take extra long. Most will probably find out next week.

why is your name lombardi legacy?

I am a third generation Packer fan and a devoted follower of the big green machine. I am named after Vince Lombardi of course, who was the greatest coach of any sport in the history of mankind and also for whom the Super Bowl trophy is named after. Also it is my Xbox live gamertag.

yea, and you forgot the most important thing - its a book

■■■■

Say what? I actually never knew that. Congrats, I didn’t know that and I am diehard green and gold. maybe I should read it.

got into NYU today (Steinhardt)! No phone call, just the packet came in the mail. I’m in California. Feel free not to believe me but I just wanted to help anyone else out. Good luck everyone!!

I got a phone call from NYU saying that I was accepted off of the waitlist. (Btw I live in NY).

congrats lombardilegacy! you and i will be one of the few packer fans at stern im sure haha

Now I’m starting to panic alittle.
I’m in Cali and waitlisted for CAS and I haven’t heard ANYTHING.
T_T; How exactly do we know whether or not we’ve been taken off the waitlist or not?

@prparn Sweet. I hope your a Cubs fan too. Chances are slim, but what the heck. I will be a New Yorker that hates the Yankees and the Mets. Oh, and I hate to Giants for beating the Packers on my birthday in the National Championship two years ago

I know a kid who got into Stern, and that guy wasn’t anything spectacular stats wise - I don’t know how they do decide on who’s getting in, but everybody remain optimistic, anything can happen (if that kid got in, I’m sure others have a chance - its not like only the kids with the best profiles get in). You could be in NYU this fall after all.

@LombardiLegacy - Hate to say this but Lombardi is by no means the greatest coach of any sport in the history of mankind. There are so many better coaches in european sport who’ve won more in tougher competitions (particularly european football/soccer). However, I’m glad there’s a few non-Yankees, non-Mets fans. I was getting tired of those fake jerks who call themselves fans when the team wins.

O man does that mean they didn’t start with the cas waitlisted kids yet? I’m so nervous… I only sent in my extended letter on of interest and an extra recommendation yesterday do you think that’s the biggest deal? And I heard last they they accepted like half the kids off the waitinglist is in not at all like that this year? When I emailed the admission officer he said well be updating wait listed applicants soon hwoever we have no indication that we will be going to the wait list anytime soon… This is so confusing o wow

just got in contact with an admissions counselor five minutes ago… i asked her if they had decided to tap into the waitlist, she asked me which school (implying that some waitists have not been tapped yet, or that the waitlist would vary by school; however, this was already expected).

i responded stern school of business, she said yes, they have decided to go to the waitlist, but “very few” was her response. they had decided to call those taken off (no mention of an email). They had already started to call people this week, but again she reiterated it was “very few”.

And, then I asked her that if we had not received a phone call as of today, does that mean we haven’t been taken off the waitlist, she responded “not necessarily”. They would be making some more phone calls next week as well.

My daughter received a phone call from NYU Stern on Wednesday (5/26) afternoon offering her a spot off the wait list! She was so excited that she didn’t really ask many details. An admission package is in the mail.
