Only some
I think interest emails may be a positive indication for some schools
Sounds majority of those accepted off the waitlist received the interest email plus the form last Thursday or Friday. So yes, that email should mean something positive.
@“Joshua&Goldy” what do you mean interest email plus form? Just the one email with the yes/no?
An odd question… in NYU home can everyone access and search for students at NYU and their contact info?
Hello, I was accepted off the waitlist yesterday for the liberal core studies program! I didn’t receive any interest email. In fact I was surprised NYU decisions came out this early.
If everyone was given 72 hours ( or 3 days ), it would seem to me that the next wave would come out on Monday because the 3 day period would end Friday night. I hope not, but it does make sense if you’re following a Mon- Fri timeline.
@intouchmom, that’s brutal. Sorry about that. Any admitted waitlisters receive aid so far?
@bbeft13, I meant the interest email+continue interest form came from NYU, and some of us received last Thurs/Fri.
@sel18, yes I can access
It seems that those who got interest forms may have better chances at Tisch and Stern. Doesn’t seem to matter for other schools
@coolcoolcool123, The fact is quite of a few prestigious universities started to announce decision on WL as early as May 6, the passed Monday.
i dont think the email has anything to do with who gets off the waitlist. we have to keep in mind us, her on CC, are a very small portion of the waitlist
Congrats! Will you accept? We’re trying to find out more about this program so please keep me in the loop if you have any info. We have NYU’s info but want to know in detail if the transfer into other programs is guaranteed or as seamless as they claim. We also have until Friday to decide.
…sorry that message was meant for coolcoolcool123…I specifically Replied to him/her but it didn’t work out that way…
I just called the Admissions Office. They are currently reviewing applications and none of the waitlists for any of the schools are closed.
For people accepted to Core Liberal Arts, did you apply to that program?
@ayecollegekid1 not sure that’s right! Last year I don’t think there was a single person accepted to Tisch from the waitlist without the interest email
@sel18. Agree. They could have sent a mass email asking for continued interest, but they didn’t.
@Chrissy123 @sel18 There are people who didn’t get the email but got off the waitlist. It seems that the email was sent to people that sent in their waitlist form before April 15th. On April 15th, NYU sent out a reminder email to everyone that hadn’t submitted the waitlist form yet. The people that submitted the form after that date don’t seem to have received the continued interest email from last week. The ones that submitted the form earlier did though, and probably because it’s been a lot of time since receiving their waitlist form so they wanted to check if they’d like to remain on it. That’s my understanding of it anyways.
Just have to wait and see…
