Anybody know if Tisch is done?
@irburgat i’ve been waiting to hear from Tisch Sports Management, Media & Business, nothing so far
As an international student, having to continue waiting to hear from NYU is really nerve wrecking since I have to sort out my whole visa situation as well and apply for a student visa which can take a good amount of time; so I really sincerely hope that they will release the rest of the decisions in a timely manner (i.e. like anytime now)…
You should call and let them know that its important because they will remember that for international students and hopefully expedite the process for them so they arent stuck in a rush @CollegeBoundorNah
@CollegeBoundorNah same here. wait, for visa, couldn’t we do it right with the school we committed so far, and change it when waitlist acceptance comes? I committed to Vanderbilt so far, but would prefer nyu stern. should i talk to vanderbilt about visa?
Did everyone get the email update that pretty much said the same thing as the blog update?
@kenzielouwho I got the update e-mail as well, and honestly it’s not looking good for anyone who is still on the waitlist as it says:
“In the coming weeks, we may be able to admit additional students if we learn that expected students will not join us this fall. However, it is highly unlikely we will admit anyone from this point forward to our College of Arts and Science, Core Program in Liberal Studies, Gallatin School of Individualized Study, Global Liberal Studies Program, or Tandon School of Engineering.”
This basically means that the only way people will get off of the waitlist at this point is if people who are EXPECTING to attend NYU this fall (those who have accepted a place at NYU) back out and say that they are no longer going to attend. I think it’s safe to say that this does not bode well for those of us who are still and limbo and had not applied to the schools/programs on the list above.
I honestly don’t know how they can say that its "premature for (them) to speculate on (their) other schools, colleges, programs, and campuses at this time) when its already been a while since May 1st came around. According to me, they should already have a very good idea about the amount of open spaces they have or expect to have…
In any case, the e-mail also says “Sometime in June, we will provide you with another update on your application status regardless of whether or not we will be able to offer you admission. I will also update our Admissions blog with more frequent information. I can assure you that we will provide you with a final admission decision no later than August 1”
JUNE…AUGUST…I can’t believe that they are planning on stringing along so many hopeful students for MONTHS to come - at this point i’ve basically come to the conclusion that anyone still on the waitlist should seriously move on with their other options and come to terms with the fact that theres very little chance any of us are going to get in (thats just my opinion though)…
@Bluebrry I would call Vanderbilt and ask them about the visa process and what the procedure would be if you do get into Stern and decide to go their instead. I honestly have no clue about what we would need to do if we end up having to “switch schools” on our student visas (as i’m most probably going to have to start my visa application with the school i’m planning to go to at the moment as well), so i’m planning to call both UCSB (my current option) and NYU/Stern (my preferred destination) and ask them.
(Sorry about the long post everyone…)
Yea I got the email. I’m hoping there’s still admission for the other programs that were on the waitlist RSVP form
@CollegeBoundorNah got the email here too. but i’m thinking that if the spaces are really not available for stern, then i think it should have said that in the email. they said that they don’t know how many places they will have for other programs such as stern (honestly, i think they actually do know) I’m thinking that the space is there for stern, but i think they’re just playing ambiguous.
and august 1st? are they freaking kidding me?
They’re playing with my feelings.
I got the email too. Let’s Be very real. If Stern was truly closed and they have enough kids then they would have clearly mentioned it in the list of schools they’re not going to go through. The email seemed very specific about not going through the list of those schools. In any case, although waiting chances aren’t to our liking, Stern is still out there
I never filled out my waitlist reply form but still got the email. Does that mean I’m still on the waitlist?
NYU kinda just seems like an overcrowded, administrative mess
@emaanym story of my senior year
@Penn1248 Odd that that happened. They will look over your rsvp form when deciding your application and if it’s blank then I think they don’t count it. But since you got the email…hm not sure
Ironic I’m asking this right after I posted a comment earlier saying there’s still a chance…Has anyone heard of any more students accepted to any college yesterday or today?
Does anyone know how many weeks do the off waitlist people have to make a decision? Just wondering if that indicates when they’re gonna let people in again. Thanks!
@terr24lr Are you sure that if you do submit a waitlist rsvp form but you left it completely blank then you aren’t on the waitlist? That’s what I did, and although it may show some disinterest as an waitlistee, I thought I still had a chance on the waitlist nevertheless.
@InfiniteHH98 once you get the email to check albert, you have one week to accept or decline. I accepted yesterday.
