On my waitlisted form I indicated gallatin and steinhardt as other schools of interest (original is CAS). Have most people heard back from steinhardt? This is the only school that may still have a space for me, despite being highly unlikely.
@almosthereplz You actually said it right. Technically speaking, once you hit the submit button of your waitlist form then you are on the waitlist. It may not be to your advantage to have left it blank because they will make a decision based off of that (along with your initial essay and grades etc) you actually are on the waitlist
holds breath intensely while waiting for someone to post that they’ve heard back
It’s happening…I’m starting to care less. But on the bright side something amazing happened recently and I can graduate in peace even if I don’t get into NYU.
@Canon7130 Similar feelings over here. I’m starting to realize that I’m not as gung-ho over NYU anymore and to my surprise, I’m okay with that. I guess it come downs to the point where someone else’s perception of you capability is not worth stressing over ESPECIALLY because it’s completely out of your hands…
If, at any point, you all realize you don’t really care about NYU that much anymore then I strongly encourage you all to take your names off the wait list so that you can free up a spot for someone else that really does want to go to NYU! Personally, I would still love to go to NYU and it would be a dream come true if someone took their name off the waitlist and I was able to get in.
agreed @webwaffle78 ! If anyone has determined that they are no longer interested in NYU, please take your name off the list!
@webwaffle78 @ruby21 Point take…good luck to the rest of you!
If you’re still on the list, keep your head up and your hopes high! They’re still admitting wait listed applicants. Two days ago I received a call from their Admissions Office asking if I was still interested. I was honest in telling them I already committed to another school, but I would withdraw and choose NYU if admitted. Fast forward to this morning and I received the official acceptance to Steinhardt (although my original school of choice was Arts & Sciences). Just check your emails daily and keep an eye on your phones for a 212 number! You never know. Good luck to everyone!
Stern stern stern stern
@mjaimes7 oh i just got called today… does this mean i might get in :o
@mjaimes7 @teenagecrime are you guys getting called on your cell phones or home phones? also hoping I get a spot at steinhardt too for MCC!
@teenagecrime what school?
and cell
@teenagecrime I’d take it as a very positive sign! The admissions officer said, in a rather happy tone during the phone conversation, that he’d make sure to update my application with my interest so I guess they’re really being honest
@geiseln I got the call on my cell phone at around noon.
oh, no news for me from stern… guess i have to move on. vanderbilt here i come
also we still have until august 1st until we can truly know if we got off the waitlist. so people in the schools that were not mentioned in the email, keep hoping!! i’m only going to take it as a pleasant surprise (if it ever happens) and keep getting excited for GW because i know it’s going to be AMAZING over there
but then again, if NYU does accept me i’ll immediately forget about GW and accept my position. it’s been my dream for as long as i can remember
Oh man, the fact that they are calling people is really nerve wrecking for international students since we never really receive any calls from the admissions offices. Also, the time difference factors into this since everyone here is fast asleep while NYU is open, so its hard for them to get in touch with me that way.
