If I pay full tuition for nyu, will they admit me?
Need more info! What are your stats, interests, etc?
You keep asking about your chances at NYU but don’t respond when people ask your stats and budget. Both make a difference at NYU. If you can provide details, we may be able to help. Without them, we can’t.
Are you applying as a commuter student?
I have straight 4.0 gpa, senior year, sat scores are low like around, 1290
I won’t be a commuter student
I can pay full tuition too.
I had a bad junior year. But now i have a straight 4.0
I haven’t taken many ap’s, only AP Bio and I want to major in biochem
Actually want to double major in biochem and journalism at nyu cas, with a minor in math
I’ll try to improve my sat scores i have one last test in December, but i’m not sure if they’ll go much higher
Help me?
What’s your cumulative unweighted GPA? How do your stats compare with the students whose stats were reported in the common data set? Are they in the mid-50% or higher?
:3
Unweighted is a 95
Hi @Dsara176 . NYU’s common data set says a 1290 is exactly their 25 percentile. That means that they do accept students with those scores but your chances are lower than if you had a score more in their upper middle (more like 1400). A good GPA is a huge help but only if the rigor has been sufficient as that is one of their “very important” admissions criteria. That said, the school is very big into diversity and attracting a wide range of students from all over. Your ECs/location/background might help, or it might not. To answer your initial question - being able to pay full-fare for NYU by itself won’t get you in. If you are a US student, admissions is supposedly need-blind so it won’t even help. If you are international, I think it’s need-aware but again there are many applicants from all over so “only” having the ability to pay isn’t enough to get you in. Good luck!!!
About my background, i am from india, but i had half of my education in india, and now my junior and senior year are from new york
Thanks though!
