Oct 8 Writing Section

what do I get for 3-4 wrongs with 12 essay?

I also thought the correction was "as visible as smog" since it was missing a word somewhere.

Yeah, Rikataka... the question was like "is visible as smog" or something.

argh, the east coast people always get the easier prompt! always!

You don't need "AS visible as smog." The sentence is stating that the pollution IS the smog, and that is what it is visible as.

were there any answer As (correct as it is) for the version of the test where the very last section was writing?

There was a few A's I believe. But you can't narrow down the versions by saying the one that had writing as the last section...all versions do.

how long were your essays? mine is a little over a page long

How many A's did you guys have for the last section?

what about the intimacy one.. what did ppl get for that?

What was the SMOG sentence exactly?

i thought no error for the mississippi and greek one, wasnt sure about the intimacy marriage love one

Oooh, never knew that all test forms ended with Writing. Guess it doesnt really matter, because we all got the same writing section at the very end because it's the shorter of the two MC writing sections.

For the SMOG sentence... I picked D... becuase I thought it was suppose to be "as visible as..." but there's a lot of controversies going on over that questions. >_<

I HAD NO As , or like ONE A in the last section of writing. Mostly Cs and Ds. Weird... now I'm scared. Am I the only odd ball here?

My essay was about 1 n 1/3 of a page long.

Most chemical air pollutants are not visible, but many of them concentrated in cities are visible as smog.

"concentrated in" was underlined, and that's what i chose. concentrated in and many of them, that's redundant no? i got three "none of these"'s, the one above was one of the candidates to be E but it came right after another E, so i figured that was conspicuous. that's why i went with the E

and another VERY disturbing pattern, the last four error ID's were all D's, weren't they??!?!? that really perturbed me, seeing so much D's in a row. but I believe 26-29 were allll D's. gaaaah

O I had teh same problem with E. Saw too many in a roll so I went back and checked one fo them, cant recall which one it was though, and actually found an error. =D confirmed that error on CC when i got home and was so glad I took care of that.

I remember a lot of Ds. What disturbed me the most was still the last writing section..... I HAD PRACTICALLY ALL Cs, Ds, and Es... last one with no error IDs, only sentence corrections..... >_<

I picked A for the intimacy one. Didnt seem like any other ones really fit... that one made the most sense to me.

I got too many Ds and Cs, and sometimes several in a row >_<

I don't remember the questions exactly but here for the 'concentration of pollutants" one I picked No Error and for the buildings one I picked "they" since I beleive it should be 'it'. I don't remember the new orleans one but i think it had something to do with being the most flavourful as well as the most popular cuisine.

Back to the Mississippi River question, the first part of the sentence was something like "flow of nutrients and sediments is changing," while the second clause was in the past tense with "adversely affected."

The smog sentence definitely had no error. Not perfect, but the sentence resembled: Most pollutants are too small to be seen, but when concentrated in cities in large amounts they are visible as smog.

OH YEAH !!!!! thanks for that 6570882

Flipsta_G and TheRestisSilence have confirmed that the answer to the Mississippi question is probably no error, with a total of four no errors for the 25 min grammar section. The sentence reads:

[Many things with the Mississippi River] disrupt the flow of nutrients and sediments to the wetland coastlines,
1. adversly affecting the regions' environments.
or
2. causing the regions' environments to be adversely affected.

These are only my guesses.
