October 2012 SAT Discussion

For the writing section with the air conditioner passage for the last few questions, how many no errors were there?

Mired is correct, and for the author’s opinion of the “assumption” I thought that it was “no evidence has proved it” or whatever was correct because the assumption was APES DO NOT HAVE A GRASP ON HUMANLIKE GRAMMATICAL TECHNIQUES and the author states later on that she agrees there since there is no current evidence that apes have mastered some aspect of our grammar rules, apes do not possess the ability.

@GoodJobBro, it said the lowest half square above 100, which is 128.

Please tell me how the half square was 32 when it said it has to greater than 100…

Did anyone get superfluous for the Greek language? It was either that or o----?

wait was the section with the question on Angela merkel the real section for writing? I remember a question on fahrenheit too. Cause the other one was crazy!!!

The essay question was so annoying. Should people have compassion for people in other nations? That literally destroys most literature examples and forces you to use history/public policy examples, which was not for what I prepared.

Dinomite…

did it say that it had to be an integer?

What was another question in the actual math grid-in section?

Was that question with the four isosceles triangles with a height of 5 and a square with sides of 8 on the actual math or the experimental math?

anyone want to predict a curve?

Did i do a different Test Than Urs???. i had two writing one about Giza Pyramids and the other about Friends.???

the trail was 8:3

@charlieb320, i got 2:1, not sure though.

A half square has to be half of a squared number, and half square had to be over 100. And it had to be an integer.

15^2/2 is not an integer

16^2/2= 128 and the next closest is 98. and 98<100, so 128 is k

The answer was “play”
The half square was 128.
Cube was 54.
Mired means stuck
Ratio for trail was 2:1
The assumption was “has not been proved yet” or something like that.

I got 2:1 for the trail

8 markers, 4 rests.

Wait…and I saw a girl doing the same section number as me…but it was math for her and she was using a calculator. Mine was reading.

Does anyone agree with Divy that the cube one was 30 or something. I put 54 an I’m fairly sure thats right

@manville, they have multiple sets of questions that are shuffled between test booklets, it prevents cheating.
