October 2012 SAT Discussion

If anyone had section 3 math… did you think it was the hardest? I’m hoping that was experimental!

@aimforthesky, I got 130, it was just a simple plug in equation one, or maybe I don’t actually remember.

What do you guys think the math curve will be like? So far it only looks like I got 1 wrong, so am I looking at like a 770?

the question was something like…
375 + something (.9)^n-2

and in this case, n was 4

I had 4 math sections. I was pretty happy lol.

@laura, I don’t think it was experimental, but I know I got near perfect anyways :D, barrons is an awesome book, so over prepared. :D

i got 130 for the oven one as well. i got 132 but said approximation so i rounded to 130

i also got 130 for the faren one

ThePhoenixForce: hmm thanks
i remember being two off, was that just me? like if the answer was 130, i got like 132

What did you get for that math grid in question regarding the coordinate plane and flipping over the y-axis. I chose (-1.3)

Also did you get 4/5 for a/b and 2 for ((x-3)+1)^-1) which makes it undefined?

YES. I HAD THE 3RD MATH SECTION. it was soo hard compared to the other math sections. that was the one with the ICe CREAM. and people said theY DIDNT HAve that so its exp.

@vgfanatic2, look here for an approximation. [The SAT Scoring Scale](The SAT Scoring Scale)

9/22 for the one with probability and marbles (?).

i also got 132…so the answer was 130 then

wait no it was def 300.

it was like (.9)^2 times something else. deff 300

a+b = 6 not 4/5. I’m right right?

@TGAllen1995 is that the one about the half square? if so, its 128.

yes !! same here! thank god

f= 375-300(.9)^(n/2)

@notnow123487, yes that was 6.
