October 2012 SAT Discussion

I think we are getting 2 questions confused…for the temperture one the answer was 130…for the Sandra money one the answer was 330

@notnow: One of the questions on the math experimental (I think) had 5% and it asked you to calculate the number of people in the study body at some school called Jackson county high school… I got 1600. Did you have this question?

The one where they give you the radii for three circles and ask for the perimeter of Triangle ABC…I forgot my answer, does anyone remember what it was?

The humpback whale question…what did that end up being?

I had experimental in writing, one was section 3 and one was section 5…
can someone please tell me which is 3 and 5, sputnik or air conditioner?

I also got 1600 @newyorkgirl

@newyork I had writing experimental…the sputnik one

@Phoneix…Gah I hate math

@color Can you describe the “Sandra money” problem?

@GalindatheGood: Did you have math grid-in experimental?

@Galinda, its 12.
@color, thats right.
@AAST2013, I did really well on this, thanks to barrons :D, anyways I expect about a 2200~2300.

the question was when alfred (or some guy) has 30 more than twice sandra and, together, they contribute 480. i got 330 for that question…many people probably stopped short and just put 150…which would be sandra’s contribution…not alfred’s

ATTENTION

someone please explain the 130/330 TEMPERATURE problem. i got 330. it was easy calculations on my calculator. how can it be 130. wth!

@color I got 330 as well. Tricky question cause it wants his age…good thing I noticed that

Yay, I got it right! Thanks @color!

To answer someone’s question, no, I didn’t have a math experimental.

Please use that to discuss Writing section!

I found writing kind of easy. I had writing experimental, but I can’t remember if I did better with the grammar on the actual or experimental. Grr. :(

CR was kind of hard this time, but I found the one in May to be harder, so I might have actually done okay.

I found math to be hard because I ran out of time on one of the sections, so I pretty much guessed on one question and omitted another. And it looks like so far I got the cube one wrong and a few others. But then again, I suck at math.

ok nvrm qwertyui

Oh, one of the questions had answers like xy^2, x+y, etc and asked which was the greatest. I got x+y because it was 6/7 or something like that.

@charlieb320, what the hell is surface area? its area exposed! surface you can see, try using a rubiks cube, its 54! @earthand, it’s 130, it had 375-300(.9^m/2), when m is 4.

What did you guys get for the perpendicular line question? It was something
like y= -1/2x + 7…that’s the answer I got! (If I remember correctly)

@Galinda, yep thats right :smiley: its x+y. It had to be since they were fractions, it was the one with y = -2/7x + 7.
