October 2012 SAT Discussion

33, and math is so easy.

@justin I had two writing sections, 4 No Errors and 2 No Errors. Can’t remember which was which though

There were only two no errors, Margaret thatcher and cuttlefish the one with the musicians was that part with “they are one of the best…” it is supposed to be “some of the best…”

33 was perimteter

FINAL MATH QUESTION IN 2nd section

It was 1600 right? Cuz u had to subtract 2 for the kid who was absent 3x?

Only one I wasn’t sure about…

@Phoenix Yes!!! The world is awesome! I answered that. Do you remember what you got for the # of students absent or whatever?

@notnow Yep it was Choice B IIRC

The. Parabola one was right. And was the Sputnik one the one with the questions about peaches and boardwalks or the other one?

1600 is what i got!!! yeaaaaa

the ape passage… was it to evaluate a new theory?

also, “indefatigably?”

does anybody remember what the answer was for the writing question about energy expended in traveling from the moon to the earth?
I remember the two likely choices were either that of walking in the opposite direction or that expended in traveling the opposite direction

i put “that expended in traveling the opposite direction” i am not sure

@justin5585 I said that of waking in the opposite direction but I really wasn’t sure

That of traveling. The other is redundant.

indefatigably thats what i put and expended in opposite direction

dlfah;ldfha;dfak;;;; didn’t take into account the “at least 1 absence” on the last problem… I’ll just go bang my head in the corner.

@justin5585
I believe I answered with the second choice (I think it was E).
Whoops. Conflicting answers.

“that expended in traveling the opposite direction” I’m positive is the answer, because it demonstrates complete parallelism with the first part of the sentence. :)

@ThePhoenixForce

I agree math this year was easy… but that means a weak curve ughh

and coolpillow… I put that down as well and so did someone else on the foums so I’m guessing it is so

No tha is redundant that was on the may sat.

yea “that of…” seems a bit ambiguous.

it was “the energy expended is greater than…”

that of walking in the opposite direction or that expended in traveling the opposite direction

“that of” would translate into "energy of walking in the opposite direction, which is inconsistent.

It is not redundant. “that of walking in the opposite direction” implies that it is in reference to energy EXPENDITURES not energy expended. You needed to restate “expended”. Tough question

With the plastic boardwalks don’t last for as long or something, was it For as long or no error?
