October 2012 SAT Discussion

was the CUBE thing 51 or 54, this took me like 40 minutes to answer, i put 51 but im pretty sure the correct ans is 54

the triangle was 34 bc triangle inequality says the two sides have to be greater than or EQUAL to the third

It was “their” because New Jersey is an it. Not a plural noun.

Also: last section

role that parents and teachers PLAY or PLAYS?

@yankeesfan6792, you have to total the days, then subtract 16 and 3, which is 5 percent of the total in the school, divide kids who had once by .05, and you got 1430 or something.

cube is 54

I put 51 for the cube thing but Im awful at math…I did study a lot for this though

no. The two sum of two sides of a triangle must be less than the third.
Otherwise, you don’t have a polygon. Just a line.

i put play

wouldn’t that just become a line though? 17 = 17?

agree with pheonix on the students one

Wait was that attendance one 1640? I think I put something around that…

Its play. The role that parents and guardians play…The parents are the ones doing the “playing”, so in accordance with that it would be they play, not they plays.

did anyone have that parabola quesiton where they asked you to find the slope. i think the equation was y=x^2 + k or something. and it said that AB was 10.

Nah. Cool the law is less than the sum greater than the difference.

it was definitely play

can someone make a separate thread for the reading?

@ilovelollipops, its 33, any 2 sides of the triangle need to add up to be greater then the other side, so 5+12 = 17, then third side can be 16, so 5+12+16 = 33.
@coolpillow, PLAY.

the triangle im pretty sure 33, cube is 54, i put 51 damnit

yeah it’s play, i think students was 1420
