Guys, I’m fairly confident @starpower2020 is in fact a t****. For one, the fact that his account is new, with his post here being his only post ever, is suspicious on its own. Secondly, admissions offices generally don’t send out meaningful updates until the absolute end of the work day (5pm) to avoid being bombarded with phone calls, questions, etc. from emotional applicants. So its strange that @starpower2020 posts nearly half an hour before the end of the working day in NYC. Finally, he says he called and they confirmed that an update was posted. Given that I called them yesterday and was told that it could be “as late as June 30th,” I find it hard to believe that they would suddenly be more specific today. Also, none of us seem to have received any notification from Columbia - @starpower2020 is definitely lying.
I don’t know if he’s a t.r.o.l.l or not, but have definitely seen some before. But, what gets my goat is what these proven t.r.o.l.l.s get by teasing an already frustrated, at their wits end, tortured souls a.k.a “waitlistees”!!! Sadistic, I say!
I have a connection on the board so I guess they emailed me earlier? I called my connection not the actual admissions office. I’m sure they are coming out in a few days, my brother’s friend got off the waitlist last near around this time i believe. In the email I was told to check the portal! also, my account is new bc college confidential is honestly the worst for college self esteem but I was hoping to share some good news with everyone here and maybe give you some peace about when they were coming out but seems like everyone is just bitter and upset over my early email.
Really hope there’s good news soon, since it’s getting closer to deadlines for the schools we all deposited to, for things like immunizations, confirming with roommates, housing deposits, placement tests.
@starpower2020, if what you say is true, then indeed it is good news and thank you for sharing it.
but, you do have to understand that folks here are hanging on to hope that is quickly fading and all they hear is the loud closing of the waitlist doors. and for someone like you to join and soon after make a statement like you did feels like that you are toying with them. they are not bitter, they are just cynical, and i can’t blame them for that as i have seen far too many t.r.o.l.l.s have come around here and did exactly what the others are accusing you of. they’ve been burnt before! that’s all!

going by last year’s thread they did one round of emails and portal updates and then after the first decision deadline (which was around May 26 or something as well) they took couple more days and sent out another round + rejections.
Do rejections come out for the waitlist eventually?

However, I’ve decided not to go though for various reasons, but logged onto this ancient account to let you guys know there’s (at least?) going to be one more spot for the waitlist!
